Who the hell needs talent and creativity anymore? Just use a few dumb Emo lyrics and you won´t even need colours or a nice concept. Be uncreative, be stereotyped, be without any statement and your work will definetely become a favourite.What I like to say is: Many people at DA use lyrics written by Emo bands. Hey, so do I. But all these people put a lot of work, a little love and a small piece of their soul in their poems, pictures and avatars. They look for a nice background, they choose the colours carefully and they think about a concept, about a special statement within their work.
I don´t think that these people are worth being overlooked because of other people using popular Emo lyrics with the result of getting all the attention.
Being creative doesn´t mean copying popular words on a white background. Being creative doesn´t mean putting a blinking smiley next to the words and calling it "individual".
Being creative means giving people the chance to take a peek into your soul by creating more than just a few black letters on a white screen...

First of all, there is a difference between wearing "emo" as a style and being depressed (Seriously-they have enough shit going on in their lives. They don't need more from people like you). BIG DIFFERENCE. Anyone who has half a brain and isn't a rude and judgemental bastard knows that. For one thing, a lot of the "emo/scene" kids are really cool people with plenty of talent. Just because they dress a certain way doesn't automatically mean they are a poser.
And the words should be enough. If you're having trouble getting popularity, maybe it's just because your stuff SUCKS. *glare* So back off my friends and stop making such ignorant generalizations. Statements like yours are examples of the societal judgements that hurt people in the first place.

I enjoy seeing the emo lyrics on creative, unique, gorgeous pictures. I do not care to see lyrics pasted onto a picture that makes no sense, or a coloured background.

I think people have forgot, "emo" is a FASHION (and most of the time a fad and kids grow out of it by the age of 18). not a lifestyle. Cutting yourself and being depressed over being dumped or somthing doesnt make someone "emo".

I agree, when people pretend to be emo. Some people really are, and they try to hide it, but express it through their art. I hate people who act emo just because.
Emo is emotional, like, depressed, and most emo people cut or have cut themselves, and if your parading around like a carousel horse with a grin on your face, but dressed in mostly black, I hate to break it to you, but youre not emo.
If you dont have a single self induced scar on your body, but you listen to sad songs a lot and still have a smile everyday, I hate to break it to you, but youre not emo.

That is a complete and total stereotype. You can't just expect someone to be a certain way because of the way they dress.
"Emo" is a style. Clothes, accessories, music taste, that sort of thing. Not a way of living your life.
Any individual person can be sad and physically hurt themself. That does not mean they are automatically "emo". Labeling people and saying they do things by the way they look is like saying nobody can have an individual thought outside of the way others see them. It just isn't right.
And please don't lash out at me like most people do for correcting them. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just trying to say that every individual does what they'll do the way they want to do it, regardless of how they look and express themself. (:

Emo is just a stereotype for people who don't now the meaning of it. Emo is a genre of music and with each genre of music comes with there own style/fashion. I like the genre and i'm proud to say that dress 'Emo' but i'm a happy, hyper active person and I know plenty of other 'Emos' who are the same. I'm not saying that your icon is bad or anything, but I wouldn't say " dumb emo lyrics", the people who constantly post useless song lyrics/poems are just done by people who don't have any talent

It depends if your manga/anime/naruto drawings are good. If you put time and effort into it and it looks good, or as good as you can make it, than it is a little piece of your soul.
There are pictures of the character Naruto staring sadly at Hinata, Sakura, even Sasuke, and wishing they were his. Was this inspired by the show itself or personal problems? Both. Give them partial credit.
