Description Who the hell needs talent and creativity anymore? Just use a few dumb Emo lyrics and you won´t even need colours or a nice concept. Be uncreative, be stereotyped, be without any statement and your work will definetely become a favourite.

What I like to say is: Many people at DA use lyrics written by Emo bands. Hey, so do I. But all these people put a lot of work, a little love and a small piece of their soul in their poems, pictures and avatars. They look for a nice background, they choose the colours carefully and they think about a concept, about a special statement within their work.
I don´t think that these people are worth being overlooked because of other people using popular Emo lyrics with the result of getting all the attention.
Being creative doesn´t mean copying popular words on a white background. Being creative doesn´t mean putting a blinking smiley next to the words and calling it "individual".
Being creative means giving people the chance to take a peek into your soul by creating more than just a few black letters on a white screen...

Ok I know I'm really late but bear w/ me here I just wanted to say that wearing eyeliner or mascara, hating your life, or having black as a favorite color doesn't make you emo unless you want to be. To me it sounds like you meet people like that who just like to wallow in self-pity.Not everyone is like that, and most of the time we don't label ourselves emo other people do. I've been called emo plenty and I've learned its better to ingore the person because they don't listen to you anyways.

I'm not a jerk, I just have more common sense than to turn myself into a dick-sucking economical teenager who lives in hot topic with her trans-sexual boyfriend. Oh, of course.

Emos aren't people, as many of the skaters, preps, and whatever in god's name you little children have created to call people. It's the same way people back in the 1950s used to call the African Americans the N word. You guys are just as bad

Why not grow some sense and try to realize the reality of that you are not emo/sk8er/what the fuck ever. you're you. you're not named gangster, so you're not gangster. or whatever you want.

what is the 'emo point', dear?

to look exactly like everyone else?

the 'emo' shit has lost its meaning because little fourteen and thirteen year-old twats have turned it into a fad. now depression is worn like a fashion statement as are cuts on their wrists from stupid excuses to why they're so sad and senselessly never finding a way to fix that because they're just too co-dependant.

Its imposible to explain the point. So if u're to much of a jerk to understand it, dont ask anyone! Not all Emos cut themselves, btw, Whats wrong with cutting anyway???

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

munkidiluffi In reply to Martiinee123 [2009-05-31 16:04:58 +0000 UTC]

then don't tell me i don't get the point of something when you yourself cannot even explain it.

oh, and, uh, i would suggest you to type correctly, and spell the words completely out. it makes your defending arguement much, much weaker. oh, and using correct punctuation marks are your friends.

i find the whole cutting thing to be quite bothersome. my boyfriend does that, but, see, he's a blood fetishist. yeah, it bothers me a little to see all those scars on him, and i've asked him not to do that once or twice, but i don't go insane on him. i let him do what he wants.

excluding the fetishists, i'm talking about the depressed who do that. it does not make anything better, and makes them seem silly and people will expect them to be put in looneybin.

everyone is full of talents, and cutting ruins the packaging. the human body is a beautiful thing, and should not be mutilated in such a way as tearing it apart. take a child, for instance. or even a baby.

tell me, what would your reaction be if a beautiful little child was just completely full of scars and marks that never used to be there? to see such beautiful skin to be put the waste to something as a knife or whatever people use now?

for another example, you see abused animals everwhere now. there are scars and everything on them, do you think that's fine? that an animal was probably cut from this? you don't think that's wrong?

and before you go all 'there's a difference' on me, there really isn't. humans are animals, and we relate to each other in many ways.

cutting is no way to release sadness. it's damaging a previously beautiful body.

and i guess you're just to immature to realize how the human body can be beautiful, but whatever. it is, and it shouldn't be multilated. it should be tenderly preserved.

Maybe look at you own thing first? btw, why should i waste my time on u?

And if you thing that cutting is that ugly, maybe you should break up with him?

If you feel hurt inside, u can transfear that to a cut.

Atchually, i would'nt care wery much. Depends on what age the kid is on. btw, they uses knifes and rasor's. Dunno how to spell rasor, Whatever.

Yea, Humans are Animals, but in a differend way. Animals dont have DA, They cant speak with a voice.

And No, You're wrong. If your mom, or somebody you really cared 'bout died, i'm sure you would start cutting too.

it makes you, the denfender of 'emos', look like an idiot, and that makes a big deal on how your arguement is displayed. if you can't type correctly, it makes the entire group look as if they're idiots. realize that you're talking about a group of people that you're defending, and you'r arguement is greatly convention-wise flawed.

my god, i said fetishists excluded. read, for once, will you, child.

you know, a twelve year-old such as yourself is just a child. maybe you should stop while you're ahead, because you are giving no justification.

if i'm hurt, i transfer that onto paper, not my skin. people who cut hurt the people around them more than themselves.

and if you don't believe me, listen to sage francis' song Inherited Scars. it's about him knowing about his sister cutting herself, and how it affected him. which was a negative affect, mind you.

you are a disgusting being, you know that? you don't care if a child, such as around seven or eight with battle scars? my god, i don't like children very much but i'd never wish something like that upon them.

depends on who, though. i'd never cut myself for someone's death. i'd be depressed, yes, but never mutilate my skin. the only person i'd do anything to myself for is my boyfriend, because i guess you can say we kind of promised each other that if one of us goes, the other goes, too.

don't try to make guesses on who i am, little girl, you don't know me at all.

Children like you don't know much about what's going on in the world, anyway. And don't go whining on me that you do, because little girls such as yourself are usually spoiled brats.

I was just talking about someone who sent out a message on how cutting affected him. My god you children and getting dumber and dumber.

A twelve year-old is still a child, and no matter what, no one should have scars from depression. It's a crock of shit how you are trying to justify that cutting is right. You're saying that it's 'their' problem - are you really that inconsiderate? You just keep getting more of a bitch.

Then don't make assumptions about what I would do. 'If you're mom died you'd cut yourself', or whatever the fuck you said. Don't ever make assumptions about me, because you don't know me.

You know what. Just for that, I'll make assumptions about you, too.

Have fun with your girlfriend, don't cut a vein next time, and stop using those lemon-flavoured laxatives, they're gross.

And just because of my OCD, I am going to correct you on everything you've just said. C:

Childrens: is not a word. It is children.
Atchually: not a word, either. It's actually.
U: is a letter, not a word. It is You.
im: not a word. It is I'm. Remember, punctuation and capitalisation are your friends!
Kids'r: what the fuck is that. C: Not a word. Kids are.
dont: don't.
btw: are letters, not a word. Say it out, it makes you look less stupid. By the way.
u're: yay! Punctuation! But alas, you're.
Emos: not capitalised.
Gay/Lesbian: not capitalised unless it is in a acronym. Then it can be capitalised when it is spelled out.
SOO: what. W-what. Soo? Are you trying to say sew? Sue? Or so? So doesn't have two O's, dear.
And, to finish it off, you're missing a period at the end of you're sentence.

Learn a little more, child.

Why don't you just stop arguing on something you know you are never going to win.
Labels are descriptions for people's personalities. Everyone is unique, everyone has more than one description. By calling someone Emo, you are saying that they are the same as every other so called Emo in the world. They may have similarities in a few things but not everything.

"Whatever, looks like u're a nerd"
Yeah...worst thing to say to anyone at all. So what if she is a nerd? Does it really matter? Munki is Munki. You are you. There is no need for labels, but people use them anyways as descriptions then it got even worse and they changed the "rules" to labels. So now it's just stupid, like how you are acting. Think about what you are typing, does it really even make any sense to what label really means? If you feel hurt inside, cutting doesn't help at all. It just causes another problem, making it worse.

You aren't going to win this, why not just back off now?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Martiinee123 In reply to xYunix [2009-06-04 13:07:59 +0000 UTC]

Noone knows what's going to happend, so maybe i AM going to win this! its the same if u were a nerd, and i hated u, u wouldn't like that, huh? So don't hate Emos! They're normal ppl just like u and me, only another style!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

xYunix In reply to Martiinee123 [2009-06-04 22:17:57 +0000 UTC]

Actually, I really wouldn't care if you hated me or not. I'm one to not care what people think about me. I do what I want, I wear what I like/want. That's that. I never even said I hated Emos, watch how you say your words; I hang out with "Emos" all the time; You're doing this again.
You say one thing that doesn't make any sense and makes you look stupid, not saying that you are, and then you say the point that Munki and I have been trying to explain to you but you just keep fighting it.

You can't just assume someone hates Emos because of the icon. They probably just hate the way people are making Emos. Emo isn't even really a label, Emo comes from Emo Rock which is a rock genre. Then they made the clothing styles to go with the Emo Rock genre and somehow people ended up turning it into a label.

You have nothing to win. You can't even set your mind straight on one point, which is making you look even worse. You are being childish by just labeling living things.

I am a nerd. And I am damn right proud of it. Because that is ME, not anyone else--sure there are other nerds, but none are the same as the other. I don't care what people even call me, they could say it to my face for all I care. I just walk away and be mature about the whole labeling-living-things business. Because I know that everyone is different, no one-no living thing needs labels or tags telling them what they are or what they should be for any reason.

"They're normal ppl just like u and me, only another style!" You just proved one of my points that you thought you were going up against. Right there, in that sentence, you are saying that everyone is different. And I bet in every post that Munki and I have typed we have said or implied that everyone is unique/different and shouldn't be labeled. So, quite with the nonsense. It's useless, your mind is too cluttered with other things to be defending something you know nothing about. Everyone here knows more about labels from back then and from now than you do. Why do you even bother with this still? It's useless to fight against something you hardly know anything about or nothing about at all.

And don't u think i know that it's a music genre?? U ppl sure think i'm stupid!

Yes, and u just said " I am a nerd. And I am damn right proud of it. Because that is ME, not anyone else " , But if a Emo said " I am a Emo. And I am damn right proud of it. Because that is ME, not anyone else " You would just say that they are all the same, so then i can say that nerds are all the same too. That's wrong

I am not supporting you. I said I hang out with them, I never said I liked all my friends completely. I don't hang out with them because they are Emo, I hang out with them because I knew them BEFORE they became "Emo".

Emo isn't even a label, so that wouldn't make any sense whatsoever. Here's the thing that you didn't notice to what I said. I said I'm proud of it, I never said that that is what people call me. People do call me a nerd. Big deal. The way people use Emo now, they are saying all Emos are the same. So you are wrong. By saying you are proud of being an Emo, then you are saying you are proud of being the EXACT same as every other Emo groups.

Just give it a rest. Everyone is sick of your nonsense. No matter what you say, I or someone else can always go against it with the TRUE FACT.

Simple enough? Earlier when I said I was a nerd and damn proud of it, I was "nerd" to make it understandable to you since your mind can't process all this.

When someone calls you an Emo and another an Emo, they are saying that those two pplz are the same.
You keep saying that people hate Emos.
