Description
Part of a building at the Flagler museum at Whitehall. This building is not authentic, but was built in 2004 to house Mr. Flagler's personal railroad car. It was meant to imitate the style of the "railroad palaces" of the late 19th century. Unfortunately, the museum does not have access to the kind of money Mr. Flagler had, so the "aged copper" is spray-painted cement. Not too convincing. The architecture is still beautiful.Mr. Flagler was the railroad and luxury hotel tycoon who essentially created South Florida. He was exactly the type of entrepreneur I admire so.
