I've yet to get MY Jacaranda shot.. still looking... this is an old tree.. the colour comes out really well on the cloudy day and great backdrop. Would have liked a bit more purple carpet. The sutherland shire where I live is swamped in Jacas. There was a midwife at Sutho hospital who gave a Jaca seedling to each couple sho had a baby in the 60's to the 80's.. so now they are every where. December first if you go to the top of Miranda Fair car park and look out across the suburbs there is purple everywhere.

It's unreal! I've never seen a tree like that! I live in Kentucky, and we have tons of beautiful trees, including Dogwoods and Mimosa trees, among other things! I love this...and the setting, and the acrhitecture is amazing! In general, this is an incredible photo! I'km impressed, and partially jealous that I couldn't have seen it in real life!

you should spare some time to come visit us here in Sydney... especially to visit my uni... this was taken in the main quadrangle of my uni.. but it only has purple leaves in spring... at other times they're mostly green.. i guess the weather and the moisture create a lot of amazing trees here... thanks a lot for the fave...

wow, i don't think i have ever seen a tree with blossoms that are so purple... it is a very beautiful color. i like the tree and the building, but i think there is something about the angle or the lighting that just isn't quite doing it for me. don't get me wrong, it is a very pretty shot, but i think that it has room for a touch or two that would set it apart.
