Yeah......I don't cut for any kind of attention, or kill myself..and those who see the cuts say that I'm just being ridiculous, but hell what do they know....but I'm doing my best to keep strong and know that I will find someone who understands and won't judge me..Β

Yeah... I don't cut for attention, I don't want to kill myself. This is very inspirational; But I am trying to quit, also trying to make more friends who are more like myself.

I just can't stand people who fake self harm for attention because it makes it harder for people who really cut themselves because of real issues in their life.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Aneirasilvermoon In reply to Aneirasilvermoon [2013-06-28 07:20:41 +0000 UTC]

To further clarify myself. I am saying that this stamp is for the self-harming people who are just attention seeking. Sadly, many of the people who admit to cutting are attention seeking. People who self-harm and actually have real problems don't brag about it or show it off.

Aneirasilvermoon In reply to TheManThatLaughed [2013-08-13 17:48:14 +0000 UTC]

I am prepared to be judged when I judge. Β That is natural. Β I am judging the people out there who pretend to be clinically depressed or self-harming for the sheer sake of being an attention whore. It is insulting to those who suffer in silence from real problems. Β *I'm looking at you emo kids*

TheManThatLaughed In reply to Aneirasilvermoon [2013-08-13 18:23:37 +0000 UTC]

Eh some "emo" people do have actual problems..Some don't its just difficult to tell and its best to judge upon fact rather than first glance.

Anyone who uses their depression as a fashion statement probably isn't really depressed at all.

Eh its like punk.

Its about expressing yourself..Not in the best way, yet still expressing.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aneirasilvermoon In reply to TheManThatLaughed [2013-08-13 18:41:17 +0000 UTC]

It's not like Punk. Punk isn't a fashion statement or a trend pretending to be depressed so people will feel bad for you. Β Punk was and is a music culture that is very against social norms and pretty much says "fuck society".

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheManThatLaughed In reply to Aneirasilvermoon [2013-08-13 20:09:23 +0000 UTC]

Not all emos are bad..Its like saying all Muslims are terrorists or all atheists have a ego the size of jabba the hutt.

As for the punk..It really depends if its 80s punk or 70s punk or all of the aboce.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Some would say the same about Goth's.

But do not judge a book by its cover.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aneirasilvermoon In reply to TheManThatLaughed [2013-09-02 04:54:42 +0000 UTC]

Except Goths have a sophisticated culture based on 80's rock music and being emo is about wearing hot topic clothes and pretending to have a horrible life while you're a pampered brat.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Was also based ofΒ Siouxsie Sioux.

ToΒ differentΒ people it has different means, the one you described is the stereotypical one, granted there are those ones.

Then there are the not so attention seeking ones who are not to bad if you get to know them yet do have a mental condition of sorts.

Like I said,Β don'tΒ judge a book by its cover.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aneirasilvermoon In reply to TheManThatLaughed [2013-09-02 05:26:48 +0000 UTC]

Siouxsie and the Banshees is considered a Goth rock band you know. lol Β The real thing you have to ask yourself is what are the true intentions behind why someone joined a culture? Β You never see a mature adult joining the emo culture because it is extremely immature and based on attention seeking behavior. That's the whole point of it. Β The funny thing is they pretend to have mental conditions for attention too. I cannot believe you fell for Β their crap. They all claim to have chronic depression (from what they're spoilt?) or bipolar when they don't. They make people with real issues look like a joke.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TheManThatLaughed In reply to Aneirasilvermoon [2013-09-02 05:30:24 +0000 UTC]

Brilliant band too.

Like I said, there are ones who pose who just take up space in the world, and then there are the people who have actual mental conditions.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Aneirasilvermoon In reply to TheManThatLaughed [2013-09-03 00:09:32 +0000 UTC]

And those people would never use a concept like "emo" to attention whore about their mental conditions. People with real mental conditions usually try to hide it or it is obvious and someone gets them help.

People really don't understand what is happening or why we do it. They just brand us with a label and send us on our way. That it is a phase and that we are doing it for attention. NO.
If i was doing it for attention i would cut where you could see it. If i was doing it because i wanted you to feel bad for me i would have told you i was doing it. If i wanted people to know i would fave this stamp.. but I can't. A lot of friends look at my page and i don't want them to know that their suspicions are true, even though I deny it.
Why would i do this for attention if all i do is hide??
People simply do not understand.

I do cut too...
I cut myself a long time ago and today I tried cutting myself...I'm really depressed, and I don't think anything will help...I believe cutting makes me feel better because it takes out the hurt that I have bottled inside that I can't find the proper words to describe or tell them...I don't cut because I want attention...or that I'm trying to manipulate...I wish my mom would understand...

I have cut myself, once. I think of it quite often though... I wonder, what if I do it? The first and only time I did it my friends and other people started to call me names like emo, cutter, etc. For all those people who have said something like that or called someone a rude name or anything like that, those words stick in those people's heads and they don't forget and their self-image gets torn. I am one of those people who get called names by family and kids at school, there's not a day that those words don't go through my head, my self-image has been and continues to tear apart. You aren't alone and I know I'm not either, if you need someone to talk to feel free to message me. I will listen.

Thanks Very much for comment, I think it's just something you need to beat by yourself.
A lot of people who self harm don't have people who can help, as very few people know exactly what you are going through. If it's your therapy then be careful and make sure it's not an addiction. I hope you find happiness.
