Taken in Beca's studio apartment with really weak lighting, which actually turned out suprisingly good. She's wearing a belly dancing costume she made herself. More form this set will be coming later.Related content

Oops, I forgot to mention that in this particular one I especially like the face in the corner, almost there, but your mind is left to fill in the rest. I have seen lots of face cropped photos over the years, but this one makes sense, instead of looking like a mistake, or just cutting off to be cutting off. You have all the information you need in the photo to have a finished image. Very well done. Kudos

I can't help but notice that you have a way with women and photographs. There is a trust there. Not the usual poses either. But they are memorable images. Your use of color is fabulous, warm and intimate. Impressive

really nice photo. I like the colours, the reds and gold compliments the mood, kind of seductive and i really like it. One thing is its a rather short field thats in focus, and unfortunatly i'd love to see the stomack in focus too. i guess theres not much you can do about that now. but i love the smoothness throught. its got a clean feel.
the framinig and composition looks great. its unusual not to see the eyes, but i think it works. providing a kind of vacant feel.

I can sort of agree with the depth of field, but I think that how it is just adds to the softness of the whole feeling.

Weak lighting can be one of the strongest tools for portaits, as I have learned. I have a friend who paints her models with light in complete darkness and gets the most amazing effect. It's unbelievable. [link]

its the same fabric!! on the clothes as well as the thing she's lying on (uh, just struck me that could be a cape or whatever from the outfit tho)
I love the angle and the cropping, you can just see enough (her eye) to get her emotions through the lens.

I think that having the focus go soft right at mid torso makes her look more comfortable.
