I actually had a story in mind where early on in their marriage, Gumball instinctively turns away from Penny while they're sleeping, leaving her to wonder if he still loves her or not, when it turns out it was just because of her glow (Gumball mainly assumed that a light was left on somewhere, but was too tired to get up to turn it off).
I figure that since they sorted that out, Gumball uses a sleeping mask.

In my headcanon, Gumball initially panics when Penny first suggests the name, only to loosen up when she finishes with "ary" at the end. "Ary" changes up the vibe and makes all the difference. What kind of obnoxious jerk would be called "Zachary" as opposed to "Zach"?
