Blender3D Comments:Artist: Endre Barath [link]
A beautiful render, with great lighting coupled with the use of kaleidescope modelling for the ornaments. The textures are great too - the slightly greenish tinge gives this a very fantastical feel. This was done in Blender, and won the 3dluvr.com contest - [link]

Gate to an unknown civilization. Created with Blender. Photoshop post-process: glow, noise, color correction. Ornaments created with a special modeling technology, called "caleidoscope modeling", (maybe) discovered by me.

I like this sort of art, surreal, ancient images. Especially when the right effects are applied.

I searched for the kaleidoscope tutorial on his site, on the Italian community and in Google but I only find 404 pages...does anyone know where to find it?
Awesome picture by the way!

Beautiful. Stuff that that goes to show people that Blender is just as powerful as other programs out there. I can't wait to get back home and start using it again
