Water is up above you, around you, under your feet, in you. Millions of tiny little particles inside a single drop, always moving. It is in constant cycle that gives life to plants & animals, all forms of life; it is the basis to many other substances of various taste, color and purpose - even food.

Our planet is 71% water. Our body is appproximately 70% water. Water forms rainbows, miraculous crystals of various types of snowflakes and gives us the possiblity of other amusing things - swimming, waterskiing, boating, fishing, and diving,ice hockey, ice skating, snowball fights.

In some beliefs, water is considered sacred and cleansing. It keeps you clean, your skin clear, keeps you hydrated. We need about 1 to 7 litres of water a day to avoid dehydratation. In some countries however a mother doesn't have a single drop of water to give her child. A child dies every 15 seconds from easily preventable water-related diseases. 6000 children die daily from lack of drinking water and low hygiene. About 1 billion people around the world routinely drink unhealthy water. Some 5 million deaths a year are caused by polluted drinking water. We in Europe spend about 13,5 billion USD on alcohol a year - that is ten times more then the sum needed to guarantee water and hygiene all around the world.

To us water is something so common that we do not even think about it. We have about 20 kinds of mineral waters in our stores that we can choose from, we don't think about our tap running or how much detergent we use a day, petrol tanks crushing at sea. We are safe. Now. By the year 2025 forecasts state that two thirds of the world population will be without safe drinking water.
