Oh my gosh this picture is pretty cute of Spike in his dog form.
The realism here is amazing despite it being a animated cartoon. It looks very professional and true to the name, suits it's theme.
Lets see here. The first thing that comes to my mind is the lovely pose you have Spike the dog in. It says a lot about him and the overall tone of the art piece. You've got some good form on the body and your canine anatomy is flawless,
I also really like the lighting here. I like how Spike's fur is shaded. It all looks pretty well done and adds depth to him.
The background isn't too much to look at. It's simplistic enough to add to the art piece, but not too distracting to draw away from the center of the piece. Spike. The grass is also a nice addition.
Overall this is a very interesting piece. I absolutely love your style.

Now the critique.
The vision or how it appears to me is kinda a waterpaint look. This is great you almost not see it is digital. I mean if like you scan in a painting. Good job!
Originality, that is hard to tell. Lately I did do some surfing arround (or MLP style, I portal arround LOL) on so many other websites there is MLP art, all kind off. So I can't tell to you IF no one has done this before. BUT for me it is very origional!
Technique. Like I wrote before, it is almost a scanned in painting. the soft colors made him quit adorable&soft. The big eye 's are typicl MLP style, kinda. I meean to say it's almost hypnotising LOL. The background comes out perfectly.
Impact. Well I do not know how long ppl do about a drawing, some sound like bordem LOL for me it looks awsome. So my own opinion will be; well done and carry on!
