Description
Stray Stars is a new Comic featuring everyone's favorite local grump, Nova-For those of you who recall, Nova was a protagonist in my last dragon comic, 'Have Mercy Oracle' where the art I delivered was up to par but I canceled it due to inability to keep up with it and the lack of motivation. It took a lot out of me but has also taught me a lot, such as background, easy panel tricks and how to self motivate myself.
So again I'm bringing Nova back to debut in this comic here; This time, the story is better fleshed out and focused on so that my art doesn't suffer from past mistakes I took. I hope you enjoy the love and work that is being put into this comic and that Nova will have the chance to have both old and new people love his grumpy scalie hide again.
Stray stars will have ONE NEW PAGE every MONDAY EVENING.
Stay tuned for new pages and feel free to offer both your support for this ambitious comic as well as your critique and idea's! You guys motivate me to do this and I hope I motivate you to continue to show Nova some love one more time.

They are spirits, very few can see them properly, there is a larger number of characters that can sense their presences to some degree. It is unknown at the moment of their origin. These ones are friendly and choose to try and assist/annoy Nova. They all technically have names, but I believe they do not remember them in this form.
There are very few who can do all three at once but yes their are others that are in the same position as Nova and can see, hear, and sense them.

That was how it worked in the first rendition of the comic. It got changed when I worked on a long-running story for Nova. They honestly act as an early warning system for Nova

Since Nova is insomnic, they are one of the many things that keeps him up. But they will 100 percent do that.
I hope so to, I have a lot of planning done for this story.

Don't worry, it just contributes to why he's grouchy.

Oh noes, I'm guessing those are, what, a tribe/loose collection of cannibals?
they don't seem to be overly intent on eating each other, otherwise that many in one small area would be unlikely, so they may have some sort of collaborative thing going on?
If so, that's pretty terrible for Nova.

Most dragons that would be considered meals are not dumb enough to fly through that area. Dragons are considered prey to them, but trying to kill each other is difficult because they are all so thick.
Yup pretty bad for Nova

Ah, so it's partly a cost-benefit analysis?
Or do they attack each other regularly (that is, not just when one appears wounded or weakened in some other way and thus easy prey) but aren't usually successful?
Are they cannibals in the first place because civilized dragons are relatively easy prey compared to many other things in the area, making it a good idea to hunt them if you leave morality out of it or do they have a particular preference, maybe due to taste, the whole "getting bigger" thing (Which kinda makes me wonder, fatter or more powerful, or both?) which may be a good strategy to survive the hostile wilds, or vengeance on dragonkind as a whole?
Anyways, Nova watch out, maybe use that fog trick again if they get too close/dangerous. If you can, that is.

It's cost-benift. If they are hungry and most things in the swamp are dangerous or to hard to eat, dragon meat is a way to get bigger easily and often easier to catch. Now they are temperamental, and if someone gets wounded they may team up against that individual. So nothing is guaranteed.
Almost all cannibals are criminals with bounties from the dragon cities and were once civilized. Most dragons are not born outside the cities since it can take 6 or so years for the egg to hatch. Then trying to protect a hatchling from all the things trying to kill, eat, or use it is close to impossible especially in these conditions.

Ah, okay, so I take it they venture outside their normal areas to hunt, since most dragons are smart enough to stay away?

If their is no food, then yes they will. Their are quiet a lot of sentient races that do not stand a chance against dragons if surprised.
