Description
I love Dadster so much <3 I know theres a ton of other amazing headcanons of him but this one has to be my favorite. Now to explain what I was thinking when I drew all this junk _(┐「ε
Top two were done while I was practicing expressions. I wanted to make some Gaster ones for fun in the end. One with him happy, one with him peeved : ) The one under the expressions is Gaster being terrifying. I dunno what he's super mad about or at. Maybe someone hurt one of his precious sons : O or maybe someone drank all the coffee... Who knows! Now to your right is Gaster with his baby boys. Sans is getting better at using his powers with the help of Gaster's mentoring. Good thing too, he's gunna need it in the future.
And now the final doodle~ I thought, 'what if Gaster was successful in phasing into a timeline where Pap is still a lil baby bones after falling into the Core?' Too bad little Paps didn't recognize his dad : I Then again who wouldn't be startled to see a creepy black mass with a face that looks like it's about to devour you...
Kay i'm done explaining now.
I tried drawing him more in my style which is more ghoul/ skelly looking with a cool (edgy) trench coat : O I've been thinking of changing his head shape a bit though. UGH! And here I thought I had finally chose a design I was comfortable with >: I Dunno, what do you guys think? Should I make his head shape a bit more square/ smoother? Maybe make his cheekbones less prominent? I just find it weird how much he changes in his void form. Like, i know he got melt real good when he fell into the Core so everything could be changed drastically. But I love the more adorkable look. Hmmm... If you got suggestions or like how he looks now lemme know. I'd like to hear peoples thoughts/ opinions on how they think he should look.
Also, thank you StealthNerd for letting me use your style of Gaster's glowy eyes C :
Oh, and I think Double Bass by Gorillaz is a perfect song for Gaster : P

I only now notice the space Gaster at the bottom, I’m thinking that was left over space? If so then that’s hilarious how you put Gaster there 😂

I kinda like the prominent cheekbones - it kinda makes the resemblance between him and his boys more pronounced.

AAAAAH HIS EYES LOOK SO COOL, I love the spiral-y pupils <3
I'm just kinda dying at the far right panel, like this is my reaction to babies too, ahahaha. And his face in the bottom left corner, holy shit. It's awesome and completely terrifying, 100/10 would not want to be experimented on.
All of his expressions are great honestly (AND LOOKIT DAT CUTE LIL BABY PAPS), I would not complain if you did more of this ( ͡° ͜ ʖ ͡°)

I'm glad you like em! : D
Same, the moment they start crying i'm like, 'Kay, here ya go' and run off X D Ya, definite nope vibes coming from him. I'd be running the hell outta there. Dunno if that would help, it would probably turn into a horror movie where you can't outrun the killer : I
Hehe, no one can resist the adorable baby Paps >: 3 And it's a good thing too, cause I do plan on drawing more Gaster! A lot more actually.....
I can't stop drawing him

What Gaster says in the speech bubble, about the excruciating procedure... I sense a Team Fortress 2 reference.
As for the head shape, whichever design you'll pick will look good because of your skill level, so it's down to what kind of effect you want to achieve.
The face in the two drawings in the corner and the one with skelebros babies looks like the face of a well adjusted, mentally stable member of society. Well, at least as far as skeletons go, lol.
The one in the bottom right looks pretty much insane, mostly due to expression and what you did with the eyes. So I'd say that the shape you've used here is pretty flexible and can be used for a variety of expressions without making them feel out of place.
The face in the drawings on the right, the one with the crib though... Reminds me of Uncle Fester, lol.

I never thought of that until now. Medic is the perfect madman scientist type though so I suppose it shouldn't be surprising you think that. I wish I could find an emoticon of that one part where Spy's head is in a jar when Medic opens his fridge. That would be perfect for this X D
Well i'm trying to go for a sophisticated/ gentleman look. Lately i've been thinking maybe it's not his head shape or his facial features but what he's wearing. I don't think his edgy trench coat is doing much to help that. : / As you've pointed out, his current head shape is pretty flexible which helps me out a lot. Thanks for the input, it helped me out! : )
Omg, now that you've said that I can't un-see it. He definitly does look like Fester! But hey, at least Uncle Fester is awesome though right? : P

As for what he's wearing, agree, it might be impacting what the character looks like. This is especially true when it comes to cartoon-ish styles (or anything that is not 100% realistic), proper clothing may mean the difference between a messy worker and an affluent aristocrat or a crazed scientist. That's one of the biggest advantages of digital drawing by the way, you can take the exact same pose and switch outfits on it pretty much on the go, all you need is to draw an outfit on a new layer and there you go. Though, of course, there is always the question of how a pose and what the character is wearing interact.
And it might be me, but I've noticed that in general in most drawings post-accident Gaster reminds me of uncle Fester, so I guess I'm kinda biased when it comes to that interpretation, ha ha.
And no problem. ^.^

Wow, thank you so much that means a whole lot! I've been working on my blending and understanding of colors a lot lately. Practicing blending using one color is easier for me when learning so i decided to use it while doing this : )
Also, i am absolutely in love with your works and art!
Which reminds me. I'm still working on drawing your adorable Au Sans, Kin. Such a freakin' cutie

Oh thank you! But I really must say it is quit amazing how well you are at blending! This is such a difficult technique for me to learn which is why I get so awe struck by those who can because it is so difficult. Its also the reason why I use multiple color shading in my more worked on creations to try and make the picture stand out. But like I said I absolutely love your shading technique and style!! Keep up the good work!

Don't worry, you're in the same boat as me when it comes to blending. For the longest time I just cell shaded by work since I found it easier/ more enjoyable. It also helped me learn where shadows should go or how intense they should be. Seeing other who can blend never cease to amaze me as well. It's a skill that definitely takes a lot of practice and patience (for most). The thing I always try to keep in mind when blending is how much pressure i'm putting in my strokes. I tend to press down a little hard usually : I I also like to use the eraser to lighten up parts getting hit by light (basic workflow is to blend shadows then add lighter areas). Usually with a chalk texture brush or the soft airbrush tool. After awhile it's not as frustrating, though i suppose thats how most things go right? XD
That's a smart and creative alternative to shading : ) It's definitely what I love about your art when it comes to the colors you use. They really set the mood/ tone in your work. You always pick the right colors to go with each other too, something I greatly admire from artists. That'll definitely pay off when or if you ever decide to start blending.
Thanks for the encouraging words, and taking time to comment. Comments like these encourage me even more when I draw. Thank you and keep up the good work too!
