no, i dont just like my little pony because its considered "cool" or "popular" or because some "popular deviants" are into it. :l
i dont like it just so i can be part of the bandwagon or whatever.
i like it because its actually fun and cute and entertaining.
for those who hate MLP, thats cool, i couldnt care less.
for those who hate it because its "soo popular" and you want to be soo "different" and "individual" by hating it, even when you havent seen the first few episodes, then go ahead, act like you're so "cool" and spend your time bashing people for liking it because you're just that awesome. really, i dont care.

Both my 30 year old cousin and my forty year old mother watch this show with me and my younger sisters.

I mostly like the new MLP because it's a major improvement from the old shows. Cutier designs, a story line for any age, and more dimintional characters.

I actually watched an episode this morning, and it's not terrible, actually. I enjoy the animation, the voice acting, the clever and clichΓ© jokes...xD I know it's for little kids, but it's actually fun to watch. THAT and I've seen pretty much every other episode of every cartoon on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Disney...yeah, I've seen it all. At least the Hub is bringing some new deliciousness to the table.
I even found Strawberry Shortcake to be mildly entertaining...except for that damn blueberry chick. Annoying, ne? XD

Well, a couple months ago.

I started watching it when it started getting popular, but when I actually started watching it, I didn't watch it because it was popular. I watched it because it was actually better than most shows on TV now.

I couldn't understand how it had gotten so popular till I watched it. The character's are cute, funny, there's a bit of a story line(the keep coming back to the Grand Galloping Gala, which finally happens in the last episode), and they have a little "moral" type thing at the end, and (from an artist viewpoint) the animation and art is beautiful and is half decent. Most little kid shows, the animation is, not all that great. They also, don't dumb things down either, e.g the episode with the meteor shower. Aside from Magic School Bus, when did you see a show for little kids that had a character explaining the make-up of a comet and using the proper terms?
I'm surprised I enjoyed watching it as much as I did.

I have wondered why it got so popular.
Honestly I really like the show but largely because it reminds me more of cartoons from when I was younger. Being 24 seeing cartoons that makes me feel like when I was 8 years old are a /pun. So yeah I could honestly not give a shit about it being a 4chan meme, though I'm glad it became that because i was honestly losing faith then western animation could produce anything that wasn't mind numbingly stupid.

I personally love it because it's exactly how a cartoon should be.
Obvious effort put into it, little refrences to pop culture(unless you want to hunt for those things) allowing them to make there OWN jokes, and the show gives just what the watchers want.
Not to mention it's good that, y'know, the people who work on the show are really connected with the audience. It's such a rare thing to see the creators paying attention to the watchers.

I completely agree. I like my little pony when it first come out and before it started appearing all over deviant art. They say that same things about vampires too but I liked vampires before twilight came out.

I totally agree with this stamp. I'm not sure where I first heard about the series. (it wasn't the internet!) and I dismissed it at first, because I wasn't expecting anything short of pure cheesy lameness from My Little Ponies. But I ended up checking it out anyway just to see what the hype was about.
And...I loved it. I totally agree that it was fun, cute, and entertaining. A "girls' cartoon" that actually had character and brains!
