what are they born from ? (like do they give birth to live young, do they lay eggs or is some magic portal responsible for it. whabi it's method of creation?)

they reproduce by two whabis fuse a piece of their glass together to form an egg (don't ask how they fuse)
but this is only done by the most intimate of couples since getting a piece of glass off is rather painful (the glass does grow back tho)
