Description
An engine who appeared in The Railway Series books that were written by Christopher Awdry, the son of the creator of Thomas and Friends, Rev. W. Awdry. The Old Engine appeared in a flashback in the story Toby's Seaside Holiday where Toby tells the story of when he visited another railway long ago. It was the Old Engine's only appearance. The Old Engine is dirty, and doesn't run very well for he is badly maintained. The fact that he's reffered to as The Old Engine is because for some reason, the fans called him that and the nickname stuck. What's weird about it is that he's younger then Toby. He is a GER J15 0-6-0 goods tender engine. It is not known as to what has become of this engine. The possibilities are that he was sold off to another railway where he was properly maintained, still works on the same line, or has been scrapped.
