Description
PLEASE DOWNLOAD FOR FULL VIEW!This is my guide to an easier way to make jewelry and other crafts with Epoxy Resin. I think it's rather simple and easy to follow. I only proof read this once so if there's any errors please let me know. :] Any questions let me know and I'll try and help. Remember this is my SECOND time working with resin ever. This is just my way.
I couldn't find any tutorials of resin being used this way. So I had to just try and learn myself and I'm posting this to help anyone who was looking as hard as me.
I hate when artist hide their secret to crafting thinking it will cut their sales in half or what not. I believe you should share some techniques and help others learn. If you like the artist enough you'll still buy from them anyways. And I hope by posting this I don't lose the support of my buyers.
If you follow this tutorial and get everything pictured I can almost assure you you won't spend more than 55 bucks.
And that's saying you don't have stickers, anything to sand with, no cups, etc etc. When I started with resin all I needed was the resin and the molds. Cost me 30 bucks right there.

This is sooo awesome ! :'DD
Where do you get your mold and when you file it, is it clear or all grainy/scratched up ?

I got the molds at hobby lobby. You can find molds online though. When you file you only file the edges and its not that noticeable.

Nice tutorial. Thanks for the info. Do you think the epoxy would eat through photos?

You have to cover them in like modge podge that seals the photo/paper. :]

That's a really interesting tutorial! I had never thought of doing jewelery this way. It's so neat!
I have to agree that too much people are afraid of sharing their techniques. It's sad.
But I'm glad to see that you are not like that! Yay!

I love this! I was too afraid to use resin and worried if it will ruin my creations, I want to use it to cover some of my clay pendants but this helped me out to get over my fear and give it a try .. I want to ask, I've read that you need a special solvent to clean the items you used in mixing the resin, is that true? How do you clean yours?

You could try clay glaze. :3
And yes, resin doesn't mix well with water and soap. It actually makes it very sticky. You need something like a paint thinner, rubbing alcohol, etc. I use just normal rubbing alcohol. You just rinse the items with it and wipe it off with a paper towel. I wouldn't recommend using anything to mix the resin with that you value. Because it does leave a resin film. [If you don't clean it all the way.] So you wouldn't be able to use the mixing items for anything else other than resin.

Yea, I will go and check them especially the hardware
but I heard it is like hazardous and with lots of fumes?
I hope I will go to buy some next weekend n____n ..
I will be sure to link you to the results because you can
be proud to be the one who made me try it! I watched several
vids and read tutorials about it but nothing put me in to doing
it until I read your tutorial .. It has some magical effect

Heheh, I do wanna see what you make! :]
And some of them have fumes and what not, but if you buy the same one shown in my tutorial it doesn't have a smell...or none that I noticed. If you're scared of fumes you can also get a mask at the hardware store, they sell those little white ones really cheap. Like 2 bucks for a pack sometimes.

I've been looking for tutorials like this, but was never 100% sure what the process was called in the first place.
Thumbs up!

This sounds like good fun. I may have to find any of the local hardware stores around here and see if I can get everything.
I think it's brilliant that you're sharing your technique.
There were a few smaller spelling issues, but can't for the life of me find them now. >.<

I never wanted to try it before because of all the confusing tutorials I saw. It made it look very difficult. But actually now I think it's easier and cheaper than all the clay stuff. xD
You should try it for sure. :3
