I'm still playing around with the digital stuff but thanks to my new scanner (hugs it) I was able to upload this and get it done relatively quickly. Again this is another work of art for Twisted Creampuff's story Anathema's Abode. This is a quiet scne of Phantom enjoying the night.The hair and the eyes proved to be a bit of a handful. The eys because I had no idea how to get a glowing effect and I still didn't get the full effect I wanted but this was as close as I could get it since I only have GIMP to work with and I'm still trying to figure out photoshop elements 7. I'm saving up to buy the how to... for dummies book they have on it. The hair took about eight different colors to get right, but hey I'm still playing around here with lighting and stuff so my digital may not be as good as my traditional stuff. Not that my coloring was any better (hides old art works in shame).
The background I debated over whether to add the buildings or not and whether to put stars in or not. I went with the buildings but no stars since this is a pretty dark story and I wanted to portray that with just the moon. Oh great! I'm turning this into an english assignment! This is what happens when your brain is as weird as mine, you tend to find and create symbolism unconsciously without meaning to. And it's funny that I could be thinking about symbollism when I'm running on 2 hours of sleep right now and I'm about to go to bed. My nice warm, soft bed...
Again if any of you haven't read this story. It's an absolutely must read. This is the last bit of fun I'll be doing for a while since my mid-terms are all next week and I'll be re-reading 14 chapter of American History this weekened alone.

The picture really gives off that "mysterious" air! I like the way Phantom is gazing into the distance too. I think my favorite part has to be the hair. The colors just blend together beautifully and make it look like his hair is shimmering.
I happen to love the story. I really hope Twisted continues it soon!

Thanks, I'm glad you like my work, I haven't gotten much time to make for stuff though, I do have a comic I'm doing of the prologue but I sadly only have 3 pages done and up with the rest still only hand drawn and waiting to be digitized.

I think I was reading this fic long time ago, and I think I stoped because I read you didn't planned to finish it. If it's the same I remember, I'm really surprised. I like it, but I'll not read it until you restart it again.
About the draw, I think Phantom's figure looks very good, and the clothes are amazing. The skin's shadows are a little strange... the neck is the problem. If the moon is on his back, then the shadow must be proyect since that side, so the darker shadow should come from the hair until the end of the neck. I liked the moon but there is a line around that doesn't seem to do anything there
The sky and the clouds are amazing, but I think the buildings need a little light, even if it's a dark story, buildings are always iluminated, at least for the moon

Thank-you for the critism, I'll be sure to keep that in mind when I do more stuff like this. For some reason it's rare to find someone who'll actually give a person crtism rather than say 'good job' or 'I love it.'

Yeah, actually I was worried because I thought that maybe I could annoy you saying this -many people around here are very susceptible. Personally, I prefer a good criticism than a 'good job'. Is nice people telling you're doing right but is not very useful

I agree with you, it's nice to here that people like your work but it's also nice to hear somethings that could have been better so that the artists has an idea on how to fix it and make fewer and less obvious mistakes. Some people get a little touchy if they don't get the 'good job' they want to hear.

I miss the story too but I keep byself busy with the prologue comic I'm doing for the story. I only have three pages done and posted but I'm working on more.

Wow. This is a very beautiful picture. Phantom looks very wise and thoughtful. The mysterious air around him plays very nicely with the night sky. Use of colors is also very crisp. And the drawing style works well for this frame. Like i said, beautiful.
I sure hope Twisted CP. is going to finish that story. It is such a good one...

He is thoughtful and wise. Reckless but mysterious. This was a lot fun to draw out on paper. 
I'm pretty sure that Twisted plans on finishing the story. I don't think she'll just leave it hanging like that.
