Roller felt old. He couldn't help it as he watched the white blur that was Okami dancing energetically in the stall next to him "Please calm down kid your putting my head in a spin" Roller asked as politely as he could manage. "What's has gotten into you all of a sudden" the younger stallion replied before Roller watched Okami's jockey Kenny come in to collect the slightly younger stallion.

Roller watched the pair leave and through a gap in the still ajar stable door he could see Okami still as excited and happy as ever rearing and bouncing his jockey clinging expertly to his back which Roller could only commend him for. The morning fog swirled around them both it reminded him of a painting. "Well I wish i could be like him" Roller thought to himself Okami had basically devoured his food earlier unlike himself.

Roller smiled to himself, Okami was a good friend to him and honestly it secretly made him happy to see the white stallion so overjoyed.

A short while later Roller found himself outside his jockey Sarah upon his back up ahead the small bay stallion could just make out the shape of another horse alongside Okami that he knew very well...Ghost Hour. Roller smiled as he watched Okami and his grandmother from a distance.

Roller and his jockey followed them at a distance towards the starting gate, coming to a stop as Okami and Ghost Hours riders had stopped to take a photograph. Roller whinnied towards the group even though he and Sarah was a good distance away he hoped Okami and Ghost Hour could hear him even if it was only slightly.

Roller watched as Okami turned his head to look in his direction....alert as ever. He could barely make the white stallion out in the fog just slightly grey shadows against a white sea but....

"Come on you slowpoke! I am over here! I’m ready! Let’s race!" came Okami's echoing whinny through the fog. Roller chuckled to himself "How many sugar cubes did you secretly have for breakfast" Roller smiled to himself.

As Okami was once again swallowed by the fog the photograph having been taken Roller and Sarah followed after them.

"Well I thought you'd disappeared" Okami smiled as Roller and Sarah was loaded into the first stall of the starting gate. Roller shook his head "Ah kid I wouldn't miss this for the world" he replied "I heard the humans say that you lost your last match race" Okami said the white stallion pawing at the ground and snorting. "Ha ha" Roller replied sarcastically "Well you are an old man" Okami smiled a teasing tone in his voice. Roller rolled his eyes behind his blinkers "OLD MAN OLD MAN I'LL SHOW YOU OLD MAN" Roller bellowed out a deep nicker in response to Okami's one. He knew what the younger white stallion was doing and couldn't help the small smile that was playing at the corner of his mouth at that moment.

Sarah returned Kenny's friendly nod and “have a safe ride!” just as the bell sounded a few moments later and the gates flew open.

"Come on then old man show me what you got!" Okami laughed as the two great stallions leapt forth into the fog the sound of their hooves hitting the turf like a thunderstorm.

Roller laughed "Who you calling old" the bay stallion laughed as the two stallions disappeared into the fog again and out of sight.

As I have IRL family situations going on right now I decided to post this up now so that my dear friend happy-horse-for-life doesn't have to wait any longer to judge this event. So here is my entry finally I hope I did darling Okami justice Happy and I hope you don't mind I added some first person words for him in the story. And I know you all ready know this but thank you so much for your kindness my friend I don't deserve you

Please also note that Roller and Okami are close friends (Roller sees Okami like his brother) and so like to playfully tease each other and support each other in their own way. But true fact Roller is genuinely older than Okami by initial reference submission date!
