I simply love your designs! I think you chose the perfect shot of Katherine here; the expressions she has here is particularly definitive of her relationship with Damon: confident, superior, and lustful. That being said, Damon doesn't exactly balance out Katherine; they're very similar on a great many levels. The one difference is that Damon opens his mouth and says the wrong things far more often, and is more impulsive. That's probably why they keep coming into conflict with each other (same means, different objectives), and also why Damon loved Katherine so much.
