Basso is a former slave of the Tenryuubito. In the meantime he earns most money with art. Through his devil fruit, he creates origami sculptures that are exhibited in many shops and galleries. He is a side character in the background story of Silvers Hanabi.

He is more a supporter in fights. Depending on what origami he folds, he can use the origami's ability. For example: A crane origami can fly, even though it's made of wood or stone for example. Basso needs a lot of time to build an origami. In this time he can be attacked easily, that's why he is more of a supporter in fights.

Basso is a very shy person. He loves to use his abilities and to create art. However he is too shy to sell his art. He has to send other people to do that for him. Like other dwarves he is very gullible. His shyness saves him from people exploiting him with his credulity. He has a very creative nature. Back then, when he was a slave he worked for different shops and restaurants to create decorations and furniture.
