Its showing everyone in a fighting pose, and their element symbols next to them. Then it goes to Sokka, who doesn't have an element but a boomerang! Basically Toph makes fun of him in the bottom panel because that's just what she does.
This isn't an I hate Sokka thing because I love Sokka. I just think its funny how he always gets made fun of for not having an element: in "the chase" when azula is coming for them, Toph says "three on three plus Sokka" because he doesn't really count. And in "the drill" he keeps saying "go team avatar!" which makes Katara mad because he can't help her and Aang in any way. I mean every now and then he comes in and hits someone with his boomerang stick thing but thats about it lol.

Poor Sokka
He knows this though (spoiler comming)
so in a book 3 episode he gets depressed about it but then goes to a sword master to learn sword skills
so he becoms a swordsman
not to forget he is the strategist among them (and map reader) and the major comic relief
I meam come on if Avatar wouldnt have sokka it would be a little boring
yeah Sokka cant bend but withoud him they would not have gotten where they now are either
but you need to see book 3 (of what there is) to see it
Sokka really has grown maybe even more than Katara in some way

haha oh yeah of course! The show would be totally different if there was no Sokka. This isn't a comic to say I don't like Sokka - he's one of my favorite characters! He's just so easy and fun to make fun of

Well, it's the way Sokka is written. He's the weakest member in the group and is fallible. It's the way he handles situations that makes him interesting.
