Uhm...I did this last week....I messed up his face o.O I wasn't paying attention and my pen went " *SLIP!!!!* right into his nose o.O I fixed it as much as I could, lucky me it's not as visable in the scan -_-!!!!his face looks too pointy >____

Great job... the contrast of the lighting from each of the corners 'makes' the drawing. I don't think that the face is too pointy... but the mouth definitely seems to stretch to far around the face. It is a side profile, so maybe it wouldn't be so big?

usually, I use a rough pencil outline but throw in detail, shading and randomness as i come to it.

I didn't use anything, I made it up as I went along. I don't usually use referance for anything unless i'm having a supremely hard time with body positioning.

pen ;__; I thought it wasw charcoal or something. Was this any particular kind of pen or was it something simple like bic ballpoint pens? Absolutely impressive in every way though Oo. And was there a pencil sketch or did you work this out from scratch. In any case

yup, plain old bic ballpoint ( actually, somone gave me the pen i used for this in my english class because I was asking if anyone had a black pen I could borrow, lucky me they said I could keep it ^^ thank you english classmate!)
usually, if i'm doing any type of drawing I pencil the basic lines first and then go over and add in details etc. with ball point . ( that is what I did for this particular one) though, a lot of the time, I just overlook the pencil lines completely because I change my mind halfway through ^o^ thank you for liking it!

I doodle with ballpoint but its nothing anywhere near as good as yours. Also ends up being blue ballpoint instead of black but I change the colors when I scanny them. Erm yeah Oo...anyway cant wait to see more cool artsies.

I agree that the face does seem a bit odd, but the gorgeous work you did in the fabric more than makes up for the slight anatomy issues. Seriously, for pen rendering thats some of the smoothest fabric I have ever seen, great sense of depth and texture too, really top notch^_^
