Description The robot population has sent one of its members on a mission to survey an unexplored moon in order to evaluate its suitability for habitation. They did not expect any problems, why should they? They possessed some of the most advanced technology the universe had ever seen. Previously no one and nothing had dared to threaten them and even if they had, the threat would have been snuffed out in a matter of moments. There was no entity, indeed there was nothing more powerful than their combined might; they were the center of power in the universe.

While exploring the moon, the robot scout noticed a light streak across the sky. Not a moment later, the scout felt itself unable to move. The gamma rays emitted by the impending supernova had fused its circuitry.

At the same time, the sky above the home world of the robot civilization blazed with the fire of the exploding star, their once mighty empire coming to a close...

Yep, my entry for the "Center of Power"-contest. Quite funny that I somehow managed to bridge this one with the last one. See this image as some sort of follow-up to Failed Endeavor . Different point of view, though.

Well, I personally think the idea was harder to conceive than the actual process. 90% of the total time taken were spent on dealing with the question: "wtf am I supposed to draw?"
The people from the SpaceArt-channel know what I'm talking about.

Props to the following people for helping me out:
and everybody else I forgot.

No facts, this time, they're definitely nothing special. I just raged at my lagful laptop (yep, I still don't feel the eager to fix my desktop). Time I actively spent on this pic (so no planning included) were about 8 hours. Sweetened my afternoons with that.

Enjoy

Great composition, perhaps adding a spaceship closer at the foreground would give it a more dramatic view plus more depth value to it..
