Well "The Bat-Cave" group here on deviant art is holding a competition and the idea is to remake/redesign a character from the batman universe sooooooo, because I loves the colors and Nightwing is the OG robin, and He's a badazz I decided to redesign Nightwing. Wooooo wish me luck folks lol this like the first time I've entered an art competition
kinda excited and nervous BUT LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!!!!!!! NightWing is property of DC Comics of course. 9x12 watercolor paper: ink and watercolor (traditional creation!!!)

The fighting sticks are called different things depending on the martial art discipline. In Taekwondo which is Korean, it is called a Bahn Mahn Ee. In the Philippines, the discipline is called Arnis or Eskrima or Kali and the sticks are known as Ecrimas. Nightwing refers to his as escrima sticks in the comics. He's even done some work on them and one end has electric stun options and he can also shoot a grapple line with a retractable anchor so he can swing with them.

I think their called tonfa or batons. I do know that they're like cattle prods or elongated tazers. Because there is an electric tazer towards the end. Ya know the weapons he uses in Batman Arkham City. I forgot the exact name for them though...sorry.

Great idea on the leg holsters for the batons. Nicely thought out.
I also love the gloves...
I wish this was a real costume of his, it would be a ton of fun to cosplay.

If I ever get some good disposable funds, I might just do that. It's really a kickass outfit.

NP! Loved the callback to the DCAU Nightwing/DCAU glider wings. Plus the eskrima stick holders on the sides make much more sense than the 90s-00s design which had them in the back! And the gloves makes sense since he's an acrobat and needs a better grip

Holy crap I never even thought of it that way with the gloves. I was thinking about having holders in the back as well with additional eskrima sticks so he'd have 4 total. And I wanted to have one set that actually connected together kinda like Daredevil's. And give him the option of making them into staff as well. I hope all that doent' sound like overkill lol.

Well I know what they've done in the N52 is that he keeps his sticks on the underside of his forearms; at least thats how it was at the start
