I just feel so bad to give Adopts away for such high prices, seeing as others want up to 1000 or more Points for some. I mean, okay, it's 10$ (some even charge 20 Bucks which seems to be a big amount of money in America), but I am not in America, so it’s less over here. I think. Idk what 10$ would be in Euro.
And I also don't want at all to have real money in this game. After all, Points are extra for dA. So why charge real money? Sell your art then to galleries or something. Make actual buisness. Not take the pocket money of some kids who just want this one creature. I mean, I get it, some use the money to pay bills and all that, but you could also work for it (there are jobs for artists) instead of making it by adopts.
It just bugs me sometimes...

yeah, sometimes they're extremely expensive. The worst is when it's like a base and it's flat coloured and no personality or anything has been added to them and they sell it for 20 bucks. Okay, people can do what they want with their money, but I'm pretty sure every sane person would know that that is just too much. Unless they have so much money they don't know what to do of it.
Paying real money for an adopt has never really annoyed me. I even get people asking if I take paypal, but I can see where you're coming from.

Yes, that is indeed the worst. I mean, I made myself personal bases too, but I do some extra stuff for my things. Notice as an example in my normal Nightwing OCs. They look mostly different with just little details that are different. Like Ashfox's spines. They look more feathery than his sisters. Or the horns. Notice how some are more bend than others. It all makes them unique.
With these adopts it's no different. I made the spines from the Sky-Ice longer than the actual personal base has them. I made the fins of the two Seawing Hybrids bigger than they are on the personal base. Even the wings are all different even though I used a personal base. I even can make the dragons frown or have a huge smile. All for personality things and so fourth. The overall picture may be the same, but it’s the detail that makes a character unique.
I wouldn't do it. Already not because of E-Mail information and so fourth. If you know what I mean.

Yes. And I litterally work day and night to do stuff. Even if that means I sleep in and have no real day and night cycle. I draw like History Has It's Eyes On Me.

I don't really use bases, mainly because I like to add specific poses as well which can help with personality. It takes longer, but I like it that way

Yeah...
Well, I came to the conclusion that it's easier for me. It looks obnoxious yet consistand (lol, Draw With Jazza reference) and I can allow myself to not overdo a pose or something. Plus most refs have this generic side angle to which the viewer can see the back rather well. Of course when I have like a character that has like scars on one side and like burned scales on the other, it's rather difficult for me because I cannot mirror the entire dragon, plus details and all of that. But usually, I don't do such things. (My dragons are lucky with not getting much wounds XD) Those things will come once I can draw digitally. For now, I'm just gonna be somewhat lazy with the personal bases I have. I say somewhat because I still habe to bring them to paper. In which case I trace my own bases. Which should be fine considering that I draw with pencil first and then still have to lineart everything. So basicly, I still work the whole dragon. And considering I also do some other body details like make the neck thinner or the tail longer afterwards, it still is work as the base didn't had that detail before. Or head shapes. I make a lot of different head shapes. That's still is something the base didn't have and I work on from scratch. So, one could even argue that these personal bases aren’t bases but guidelines. A little help if you will. But see it as a base or a guideline, I don't care, as long I know that even then there are multiple hours, even days spend for one design or an idea, it's for me a help to be able to not spend too long on a design by first getting proportions and such right. It saves a bit of time.
This is why I soon wanna tackle the 49 Adopt challange. It won't be done in two days. It may even take me weeks to finish. Simply because I basicly work more than on a digital base.

Small details are sometimes the key to a unique characer.
Let's take Pokemons Spinda as an example. The chance of getting the exact same Spinda with the same exact pattern, the exact nature, the exact characteristic and exact ability as a Spinda you already own, is SO damn slim, you may be luckier to win in the Lottery.
Just look up Spinda. That thing has so many pattern combos that that alone is such a slim chance of happening. It's not impossible tho.

It gives me more of an understanding for socializing. As I don't really have a grasp on it sometimes. The downsides of having ADHD... You may be a rather fun person to be around, but sometimes you don't know where to stop or what was inapropriate in that moment.)

Ah, I used sorta the same technique for my 49 adopts. It was pretty much a copy-pasted skeleton, meaning that all adopts where hand drawn, but all in the same pose.
And of course the 49 adopts won't be done in two days. It took me like two or more weeks to get mine done even if it's digital and as a sketch. Take all the time you need.

oh, well, as long as you don't see your mental health declining, then I guess there's nothing wrong with it. It's just me who has a very messed up sleeping schedule and can be awake for hours. Plus I'm tired all the time (being tired is everything I know. I don't know what it's like to be fresh), so can't sacrifice sleep.
Oh, you're not the only one with a weird school schedule? I'm currently only two hours in school, and only every second day. I've been very tired and stressed recently, so it has been cut down until I can slowly build up to normal. Trust me, I've had modified schedules for as long as I've gone to schoold due to mental disorders and stuff.

I have ADHD as well, so I kinda know what you're going through (though I'm not sure if I've ever tried being inappropriate or doing something I shouldn't because of it? I can't remember).
It's weird, it's the smallest things I remember. Like when my little brother was born (I was two and a half at the time) and that I walked into a room somewhere else in the hospital and began to draw. And that I asked my dad if he could draw donald duck and the tried to copy his drawing because it was so well made.
My memory is pretty good, but some things slip away and get replaced by smaller things. Like instead of how atoms bind to each other, I can remember which atom has the most... electrons? Protons? I can't remember. It's 72, and it's a type of uranium.
And usually it's things that I'm interested in I can remember the best. Like the boson that give every particle or thing mass. Bosons are also the heaviest out of all particles if I remember correctly.
As you can see, I'm random as well. And a nerd

I know. (Le gasp, another Draw With Jazza watcher! I even made a Character Design Session ala Jazza :3 And the result is still as a newest deviation on my Profile. Go check her out, it was a rather weird thing that got chosen (basicly two jobs in one because both got the same amount of votes), but I plan on making another one soon. It was rather fun and will be a dragon again. I can't draw Humans so dragons are the only option XD)

And I will take as much time as I need. My motto is "Don't rush me or you'll get a not so good result that could've been much better". It may seem a bit douchy, but when I get rushed, it's like quantity over quality, which is never good. So my second motto is "Quality over Quantity", a Youtube artist had opened my eyes with that. So ever since I saw that vid that had that topic I was like "Holy crap, this is genious. Why didn't I do that from the beginning?"

Well, the two challenging things are colours (though I have now more blues but I still have to keep my scanner in mind. It likes to mess my shit up) and the neck/head spines. Tjey are just so manny, and the personal base I made doesn't make it easier. (Look at Iceblade and Sapphire to know what I mean)
If I were to make a design that has these spines almost non-existand, I'd also have to make more scales towards the head than I have at the moment. The paaaaaain. (As you can see, personal bases sometimes give you even more work XD)

So, let's start from the basics. Sorry if you already know this.
Atoms is what everything is made out of. You're made out of atoms, I'm made out of atoms, this plant over here is made out of atoms. Everything is made out of atoms.
So, atoms bind with each other and make solid stuff.
Each atom has a nucleus, that's the center. It's made out of protons and neutrons. Outside flies electrons. Some atoms have more electrons than others, for example a helium atom has two electrons (and two protons and neutrons), while uranium has 92 electrons (and 92 protons and 141-146 neutrons). Electrons are negatively charged and balances out protons who are positively charged. Yes, I had to look that last one up because even I don't know the basics because I currently don't have chemistry classes and always found it all confusing. Yeah
Electrons plays a part in binding with other atoms. When two atoms meet (let's say two hydrogen atoms meet one oxygen atom), it can go either two ways: when they create an ion, either one looses an electron and another gains it, or they both share all their electrons. When they've met, these two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom is now water.

Particles are what makes up mass and volume. Mass is how much there is of an object while volume is how much space said object takes up. There's different types of particles, but we'll mostly focus on subatomic particles. The electron is a subatomic particle, for instance. A subatomic particle is a particle that is smaller than/or is the same size a an atom.
there's different types of subatomic particles. There's quarks, leptons, gluons, neotriones and bosons. What we'll be focusing on here are bosons, as Higgs is what we're talking about. Bosons are the heaviest of subatomic particles, a fundamental particle (a particle that has not yet been broken down). There's multiple types of bosons that all do their own thing, like photons, however, Higgs is something special, it's the one that gives everything mass. Without them nothing will have mass. It was named after the dude who predicted it, Peter Higgs and was discovered in the LHC (large hadron collider (a particle accelerator)) on the 4th of July 2012.

I hope all of that made sense. I had to look up some stuff because I didn't understand everything myself, and you can't explain stuff well when you don't even understand it yourself.

Bonus facts cause why not?
Neutrinoes are the smallest particles, so small they fly through atomic structures. This was used as a plotpoint it the movie 1012 (spoliers maybe) and was said to be mutated neutrinos that went through the Earth's core and melted it. Don't worry though the chance of that happening is like 1-impossible. You see, neutrinos are shot from the sun like all the time and fly through Earth multible times. Also, the Earth's core is said to have so much pressure despite it's high heat everything is solid. however, we can't prove this for sure because we can't explore the core due to the heat. However, even if a neutrino should mutate it properly wouldn't melt the core.

Quarks makes up protons and neutrons.

There's two models concerning particle physics. The standard model, and the multiverse theory. There's holes in both theories, for example the standard model cannot explain gravity, but they're widely accepted as the leading theories.

Antimatter. Yes, that exists. Antimatter is the opposite of normal matter. For example, the opposite of an electron is a positron.

Antimatter cannot really exist, as when they come in contact with normal matter they'll cancel out. however, scientists has managed to keep a anti-helium particle alive for 20 seconds.

still on antimatter, can't remember when but a scientist one time fired off 20.000 positrons at once. I think it was in 2015? Don't quote me on that.

Particle physics and quantum mechanics kinda go hand in hand if I remember correctly. They do have some relatations.

Quantum mechanics have found things that goes against what we know on a larger scale. That's why it's so fascinating, that things we know on a large scale doesn't necessarily apply to the smallest scales.

The LHC, or Large Hadron Collider is a particle accelerator in Cern. It pretty much fires off particles at almost light speed (99,999% or something) and let them meet at the center and collide. Spiting things up.

Light can act like waves and like particles. How fascinating.

gravitons are mostly a theoretical particle that is said to give gravity. If I remember correctly, it has not been proven yet, but I might be wrong.
Gravitons would most likely also be a boson
