Description
For personal financial reasons, Adopts will be a bit more pricey than usual. This is due to me having to use traditional media instead of just making a base and colour in the lines. What I'm basicly saying is, we barely have money (due to a stupid heating costs increase) to buy new stuff to draw with so I'm slowly running out of stuff to draw, which in turn makes Egg Adopts and Design Adopts luxury goods for now.
I'm sorry for inconveniences.
Though the prices are also based on how much I like the design or how hard it was to come up with colours and such.
Genders from all dragons can be changed. (you just have to take away the 'eyeliner' from the females if you want them to be male)
You can give them scars or other extras.
I'd love it if you don't change major things about the Adopts. It would make me very happy and show me you appreciate my hard work :3
1. SkyWing/IceWing Hybrid - 90 Points - Taken
- Male
- Name is most likely 'Amethyst'
- Markings on wing membranes look like veins
2. SkyWing/SeaWing Hybrid - 150 Points (sorry, it was just so difficult to colour her, I also love her design) - Taken
- Female
- Based on an art of a tropical fish I found on Google: us.123rf.com/450wm/antonlunkovβ¦
- Most likely a kind and gentle soul
3. NightWing/SandWing Hybrid - 125 Points (I also fell in love with her as the markings were a last second addition) - Taken
- Female
- Seems to have a burn mark on her throat (can also be some kind of marking if not wanted to be a burn mark)
- No moon powers
4. NightWing/SeaWing Hybrid - 80 Points - Taken
- Male
- Fin 'stars' are supposed to look bubbles underwater
- 'Star' scales on wing membranes resemble the glowing curly markings from Seawings
Sadly, I do not have the heads as single pictures. Sorry about that
Wings of Fire belongs to Tui T. Sutherland
Dragons belong to their owners

Awww man I've been debating this for AGES. Specically because I'll have to go into my savings XD. Lol.Β
But I really love the Sky/Sea (and I have an idea for her ), So I was wondering if I could buy #2?
They all look amazing, you've done such a great job!! ^^ (What medium did you use?! It's so awesome!!)

Of course you can have her!^^
Oh my god, thank you so much!^^ For them all I used watercolour pencils in a special technique I found for myself, Copic Markers, a white gel pen, some brush pens from Faber-Castell and pastell pencils.
For the Sky/Sea I used Copics and pastell pencils.

Yay thank you so much!! ^^ (sent)
Oooo thats so cool!!! (I love all those mediums!! )Β
For some reason my white gel pens never work :/ do you use two dollar ones or more expensive ones? ^^
Ooooo copics. I love copies!! ^^ They are. AMAZING.Β

You are welcome^^
I use a white gel pen called Uni-Ball Signo. They even have red, blue and a few other colours, but they are all metallic, I think. Don't quote me on that XD
And yes, Copics are amazing. I love to use my pastells to brighten up or darken them if I want a different shade of the colour I'm using. As an example, I used a blue Copic as the base for the blue gills and then used a dark blue pastell pencil to make the gradient of the gills.
It's a pretty neat thing I figured out, as I don't have that much Copics yet and not all Copic colours are available for the Ciaos.

^^
oooooooo I'll have to look out for them!! XD
ooooo YESH!!! That's so cool!! ^^ Ooo I never thought of useing pastel Pencils!! Thats the best idea ever!! Now I can actually use them!! Lol XD XD I do use sharpies and PrismasColour pencils in a similar way tho!! And I use gel pens to make it sparkly!! (I draw a little bit on a container, then with a paintbrush and water I use it like paint!! When I can be bothered lol. Other times I draw it on and smudge it XD hehe).
(ooo ciaos, I love Brushmarkers!! Unfortunately I don't own any of my own, but my arts department does, just not copics. They have Mexpy! Which is slightly cheaper, but the quality is more or less the same! ^^ plus there's LOTS LOL. XD).Β

BluCrystalMoon In reply to SapphireNightz [2018-01-25 20:03:36 +0000 UTC]
The best part about the Signo's is: You can refill them! And they come in two sizes.
Haha, I'm glad to have shared a technique!^^
I love to try out new things with my stuff to get the best use out of them.
I sorta sometimes do something similiar with my watercolour pencils from Faber-Castell (If you haven't noticed, I swear on Faber-Castell when it comes to pencils, especially watercolour ones). I put a bit of water on my small brush, brush it against the mine of the pencil and draw with the brush like I just used normal watercolour. I usually use this if I want a light base colour and don't wanna risk putting on the pencil too hard to make the colour too strong. It's essencially more water, less colour, one of the base things for actual watercolour, only that I don't really need to mix my colours first and can just use the quality ones I have on the go as I never take my actual watercolours with me, only the w-pencils.
And yes, I also love Copic Ciaos. It's just this satisfying feeling of seeing and feeling them run smoothly over the paper. And not gonna lie, I love their smell. It's just that when I had a stressful day and I smell the alcohol and ink, it soothes me and tells me "You can let go now and calm down by being crative". It more or less smells like home XD
Am I weird for saying that? Possibly, but I don't care. XD
Mexpy? I need to search them up, maybe I'll get a few and test them out, if the price is right.

Yash!! Best thing ever!! I love experimenting XD even if it turns out like a nightmare XD.
Yassshhhh Fabre-castle!! Ooo I see! That's cool!!
YASH I CAN RELATE. THE SMELL. XD Sharpies have a nice smell to, but you can get high on them lol so I stay away XD.
Totally!! Mepxy is great!! But they are expensive lol. So. XD I have a voucher I got for my bday, I think I'm going to buy lots of art supplies!!!

Yeah, then again, it has a high price because I struggled a bit with the design, plus I love how she turned out in the end.
I maybe should do a Status that says something like, if you wanna support me, donate. But that would come off as needy... ;-;

Yeah, I think it's a fair price. I more meant as in if she hasn't been sold after like 2-4 months.
And she did turn out quite well
Hmmm maybe? It's really a hit or miss in this case
Also, question: You said you had some personal financial issues, however, I'm pretty sure one of DA's rules of points is that you cannot convert them to real money. Not saying your financial state is a lie, just curious.

BluCrystalMoon In reply to DragonSpirit20 [2018-01-23 11:56:53 +0000 UTC]
^^
Ooooh, yeah. Then I have to think about it again.
Yeah, better not risk it.
I know that Points aren't real money.
It's just that we don't have really that much money right now to buy art supplies for me. And because my pencils are running out, I should more focus on personal art. Adopts arenβt really personal art, but I am using my slowly running our art supplies on them, so they become basicly a luxury good thingy as I could use the supplies I'm running out of for personal art such as character refs or even Comic pages.
I just feel like it should be seen as "Oh, you're running out of stuff but still want to do Adopts for us even though you could use it for other art? Here, I'll give you a few more Points to support you because you basicly give up with that to make other content and work so hard with the stuff you have left to give us characters instead."
Idk, maybe I can't really explain myself as to what I mean... Though I hope I sorta explained what I mean...

DragonSpirit20 In reply to BluCrystalMoon [2018-01-23 12:09:10 +0000 UTC]
okay
alright
I think we might have misunderstood each other here, what I meant is that since you don't have a lot of money to buy new art supplies, then why charge points for the adopts, since points cannot be converted into money (like how you can spend money to get points).
But that may not have been your intent in the first place. I dunno I can't read your mind.
And yes, it is a luxury that you basicly give up your chance to get personal projects done to do adopts instead.
Which is I why I wondered: Why adopts? Why not make personal projects? Yes giving points is supporting you, but what you need is real money, and points cannot be converted into said real money.
I don't know, sorry if I sound rude here. You do what you want to do with your art supplies.
Also, all this talk about art supplies makes me want to draw some traditional art, as I don't do it often anymore
π: 0 β©: 1
BluCrystalMoon In reply to DragonSpirit20 [2018-01-23 12:42:18 +0000 UTC]
Well, I charge Points because I don't have PayPal.
And again, I know you canβt convert Points to actual Money, but you have to pay money if you want Points. (Which I think is somewhat stupid, take all the App Games like Dragons Vale or whatever as an example, it should be that every day or so you get 20 or 50 Points, maybe even once a week 100 Points. That's what this App called Quid or however it's spelled does, only that it gives you thousands of coins per hour)
And I do Adopts instead of Personal Pojects is because my personal stuff doesn't seem to get as much support as like my YCHs or Adopts.
And this may sound money greedy or whatever now, but Personal Porjects think about his: it only gives me mental support. Noone gives me a Point or two for having drawn a Chibi version of my Character. All I get from that is "That looks good" or "How cute!". Well, thanks for stating the obvious, I knew that myself.
What Iβm saying is, I sometimes don't really feel the support. I do feel it, just... When I look through my Gallery, I don't get as much support on personal art than when I do like Fanart or Adopts, which I think is a little tiny bit unfair. After all, I put my heart and soul into these characters I make. It just gets me down sometimes... I mean, sorry that I don't want to just draw fanart and become that kind of an account. I want people to enjoy my own content. And then it just hurts a little when I see that my fanart and adopts get more attention than what Iβm actually about.
Do you get now a bit what I mean...? It just gets tiring and after some time you just start to give up. Hence why I still haven't even started on page 2 of my Comic, like, at all.
Honestly, I would love to see traditional art from you.
I mean, I don't despise digital art, but there's just something about traditional art that I really love. Maybe because I donβt have a way to draw digitally.

DragonSpirit20 In reply to BluCrystalMoon [2018-01-23 12:48:50 +0000 UTC]
Ah, I get what you mean now
And yes, I completely understand, especially with the fanart getting more attention that original art. I'm sure a lot of my watchers came for my wof art, and not for my own original art. They're properly gonna leave when my interest in wof drops (as it does so with a lot of the fandoms I've been a part of). It is pretty annoying given that I'm much more invested in my own personal projects than fan stuff.
Well I'm glad you want to! I'll properly make some soon or something
In the meantime, I have some right here
π: 0 β©: 1
BluCrystalMoon In reply to DragonSpirit20 [2018-01-23 13:13:33 +0000 UTC]
Do you also get why is charge now a bit more for my adopts?
Well, I do it so that I actually feel supported. I mean, I would love to have PayPal, but then I feel bad for taking actual money, even if that would make me have more for art supplies. I just... I donβt wanna take actual money from other people just for a skin I slapped on a dragon.
Taking actual money for Comissions however would be perfectly fine. After all, Comissions are dedication and some artists hold themselves over water with them, like students.
And yeah, that's something you may gonna face. Though you can be sure that I am not like this. :3 I'd really love to see your own stuff.
A friend of mine also has a Comic. It may be from a Fandom, but it still is her own stuff at the same time. As is my Comic. Just that her's takes place before the events of that world and mine takes way after the events of that world where things drastically changed. Both our Comics are still for/from said Fandom though. Thus I don't really understand as to why my personal stuff doesn't get as much attention as Fanart, as it techincally is fanart. In a distant way.
The Fandom I'm talking about is The Legend of Spyro. I mean, HECK, he even appears on page effing 1 and he even gets some appearances in the Comic itself, even plays a big role in Chapter 1.
OOOOOOOOH, that looks so clean! And it looks lineless too! Wow, I could never do lineless.
You have my deepest respect!

DragonSpirit20 In reply to BluCrystalMoon [2018-01-23 13:34:44 +0000 UTC]
Yes I do now
Yeah, makes sense
I have no clue what "Holding yourself over water means"
It is and will always. I mean, I have a lot of fanart on my page now, and those certainly get more attention than my own stuff. Though I'm glad when I find the ones who do like my own stuff and isn't here just for Wof. Ad the best thing is when they say their opinion on my own stuff, it makes me so happy because it makes me feel like they actually care about this world and these characters that I've spend so much of my time on.
And I'm glad you like my person stuff! ^^
Well, go on my page and scroll down and you'll find my own stuff.
Yeah, it's technically fanart, so that doesn't make that much sense. It's still your own though
The fandoms I'm talking about are things like undertale or recent animes I've watched. It grips me for a few weeks or months, and then I just drift away from it, not actively searching out stuff from said fandoms. Though maybe I'm still a part of it even if I'm not that active?
Idk, I think it might help if I actually followed accounts that made fanart of different fandoms. Kinda like Wof, it keeps me in.
Thank you so much!
Though the lineless of Mike isn't the greatest. You can see some of the lines. Should've been more careful.
It took a long while to nail it down, but it's kinda like digital lineless in a way. You need more shading than what you just thought, and layering color ontop of color takes a really long time.
Aw thank you! You have my respect as well
π: 0 β©: 1
BluCrystalMoon In reply to DragonSpirit20 [2018-01-23 13:56:21 +0000 UTC]
Ah, good.
Holding yourself over water is an expression to say that you do like mini-jobs to get enough money to be able to pay the bills. Basicly saving yourself from drowing (getting kicked out and landing on the streets).
Yeah, that's also what I mean. I'd love to have a few comments saying like "I really like the colours!" or "That pose looks really good!". Things like that are showing support in my eyes. It not only makes me feel like people care about my world if they compliment my characters, but also that they care about my art in general.
And I will check out your stuff as soon as I can. Well, I can right now, I just really wanna do other stuff first XD
It's a mix of both. Sorta.
Ah, yes, I have the same thing. Only that I come back to fandoms every once in a while. Sonic and WoF are an example for that. My characters Ruby, Starwave, Wavestar, Sunstorm, Alligator, Emerald and Sapphire actually are about five or four years old and were my original Squad. I even have pictures lying around of their old designs if youβre interrested to how they once looked like.
Though there is one Fandom I will be in until the end of my days: Pokemon.
Eh, I'm too scared to try myself on lineless. It's something I never want to try out XD
And why do I have your respect? I don't do much. My style isn't unique as it's actually supposed to be inspired by another style.
π: 0 β©: 1
DragonSpirit20 In reply to BluCrystalMoon [2018-01-23 14:22:13 +0000 UTC]
Also, sorry if I sounded rude
oooooh I get it now
yeah, those types of comments are always really nice. They do make you feel like you aren't posting into nothingness.
That's great!
yeah
Glad I'm not alone.
God I really want to get back into Undertale. It's just that everytime I try some voice in my head tells me it's cringy and I shouldn't do it. Yeah I have problems. Also the amount of hate there is towards the fandom was what drove me out of it, which was properly what gave me that mentality. Like sure Undertale has some bad shit, but there's also good shit. It's rare you're gonna run into the shit. Though it is sad that the shit is so loud it catches the attention of people outside the fandom.
Okay sorry I got sidetracked.
Wow they're old. My original squad is like only a year or so. Sadly I've kinda drifted away from them...
Ah yes, Pokemon. What a great thing.
I think dragons (I guess that could be considered a fandom on it's own?) is what I'm most likely going to stay in for the rest of my life. That or WoF.
Why? What is it about it that's so scary?
Idk I might be able to help?
Hmm... maybe respect isn't the right word? More like mutual understanding or something. Mutual respect. You're an overall nice person, have some good art and you don't scream when someone disagrees with you. That's respectable.
Dude my art style isn't unique either. Just look at people like Seasaltshrimp, Epicstars or Skaylina. All of those styles including mine looks the same.
My style really came from Spyro, like those bumps before the horns and square noses and such. They all came from there.

BluCrystalMoon In reply to DragonSpirit20 [2018-01-23 14:51:10 +0000 UTC]
Nah, it's okay. I think most of it was just that I never can really explain myself. And we already astablished that ot happens to me a lot XD
Yeah XD We have some weird expressions and methaphors XD
Me too, I actually have a fan character myself. She originally was the daughter of Sans and my Ex-Persona (I know, reeeaaal original), but I could make her a stand alone Monster. I wouldn't even need to change much.
But I do get what you mean. It's the same with Sonic and the Furry Comunity. I just don't get the hate man... All this senseless hate...
Yeah, they are really old. Back then I also didn't quite grasp the whole Hybrid thing and made them look all weird XD
Oh, another Fandom I will be forever in is Godzilla. I just love that gigant lizard <3
Yeah, I also will forever love Dragons. You can just do soooo much with them.
Well, I don't really like messing up my art. It's just so scary for me because I can't just click an undo button and start before the point I messed up. That's the scary thing I fear. But itβs with all my art.
Ah, yes, I understand. Well, it's mainly because I know how it is to more or less get yelled at when you disagree with someone. Thus I try to calmly explain myself. Though I can be passive agressive if I want to be, which usually shows in the way I write things. Like, you can really see when I get slightly passive agressive. Or full out agressive, but those were very rare cases. It's usually when I have beef at the moment with that person.
Though usually I try to be as calm and mellow as can be, even if I'm boiling on the inside. Like always, keeping my actual feelings hidden like so often. I guess that's a plus when youβre depressed. You know how to keep your true feelings hidden, even if you sometimes don't want to or it's accidental.
You too? Because my style is straight up The Legend of Spyro inspired with my own little twist (such as wing membranes conecting to the body). Basicly Spyro but I guess yours is more of a Classic Spyro style then?
π: 0 β©: 1
DragonSpirit20 In reply to BluCrystalMoon [2018-01-23 15:08:15 +0000 UTC]
Well, as long as we can be civil and talk things out so we understand each other, then it's okay
Yeah us too
Oh
Yeah
Yeah there are some weird and fucked up shit in there, but you have to dig deep. Granted with some fandoms you have to dig deeper than others, they'll always exist. In fact, some of those little shits are little shits who left other fandoms.
I remember I thought there where way too many hybrids and decided to make my main four one tripe. Then Puddle got some Icewing genes in her, so I guess that got thrown out the window. Plus I like mixing things up.
Hahah yeah I've always also had a love for giant creatures.
Maybe check out shadow of the colossus? There's giants in that game too
You can! Like they don't exist, so you can do so much with them. Well, it's kinda like most fantasy creatures, but there aren't as many dragons as there are elves for instance.
Also, what's your opinion on elves? I know they piss some people off because they're usually pretty overpowered.
Which is why I tried my hardest to make mine original while still having some stuff from elves that I enjoy. I think I've written it down somewhere hold on
Okay it's gone
Hmmm yeah, that can happen.
Though one just needs to go slow and steady
Yeah, I can tell sometimes. Like just here before I'm pretty sure you got passive agressive, but maybe I'm just reading things wrong.
Honestly, I have a tendency to just spout my thoughts. Though over time I've tried to just not say anything. Just keep my mouth shut 'cause I'm just not up for debating and the possibility of being hurt.
I guess it is
Yeah.
Hmm, I think yours leans more towards realism. Well, mine does as well.
Classic spyro? No, the legend of spyro.
Plus a bunch of different artists who drew spyro art.
Yeah, I never really realized that their wing membranes are not attached. which as we all know makes flying really hard
π: 0 β©: 1
BluCrystalMoon In reply to DragonSpirit20 [2018-01-23 15:56:36 +0000 UTC]
True dat, true dat.
Lol, like what? I need an example XD
Ooooh yes, but mostly this fucked up shit is porn and stuff. I even found WoF porn by just simply looking at fanart. Like, the fuck?
When I made my Squad I thought there were no Hybrids at all. I think I didn't even know back then that Sunny was a Hybrid.
I know Shadow of the Colossus. I saw Jacksepticye's Let's Play of it.
Indeed indeed.
Well, I don't mind elves that much. I personally like it more when they are close to nature like the ones from Lord of the Rings and use bows and maybe have an animal companion.
Basicly when they are more like the RPG Class "Hunter"/"Windrunner"/"Ranger". This is mainly Bias because I absolutly adore bow and arrow users. In RPGs such as World of Warcraft or Guild Wars my first characters are almost instandly Hunters as they most of the time have pets which aid you in your battle.
Plus I just love to see elves in leather armor that just looks so fancy and/or like nature based armor.
Yeah, sometimes I'm just not that patient with art, even if I may or may not be the most patient out of my entire family XD (My family says I am so patient because of my art. They always say they couldn't be as patient in drawing as I am)
Well, usually one can see it because I do either THIS, this or this during conversations, or in the way I word things. Also with the way I end sentences. If I put a ! behind, without ^^ and when my sentence already seemed pretty pissed, it's usually the first sign to "Oh damn, she's getting anoyed". Though most of the time it's "oh! I didn't know that!" and similiar, such as if I want to point out something or agree strongly.
If I put nothing behind a sentence it usually means "I'm getting bored with this" which then can lead to passive agressiveness if it just flat out bothers me.
Though I will admit, if I think the one that talks to me is one of these people that are like "But this isn't how the canon works!", I immediatly get passive agressive. I could show an example on how my passive agressive looks like so you can see what I mean with "how I word things".
And no, I wasn't passive agressive before. I just got slighty anoyed with myself because of my problem to explain things. I tend to do that too. I mean the becoming anoyed with myself. Because then I get anoyed because I don't how to word things so that I explain it better, which leads to me becoming more and more anoyed with myself and in the end, I just become pissed with basicly everything.
I admit, I sometimes have a short fuse XD Which I absolutly hate. I just can't help it though, over the years of getting bullied, there's just this anger that build up and I have litterally no way to unleash it fully so I'm more or less fully mellow. Though, one way would be if I would get the chance to absolutly murder these bullies. Then I would feel better. (sorry if that sounded like a murderer, I promise I would never kill a person if it wasn't out of self defense)
Well, not realism, but logic (though the wing thing is more of an asthic and lore thing of my world than logic). That's why I can't seem to draw like these funny cartoon-y Anime expressions. Like these: images6.fanpop.com/image/answeβ¦ images5.fanpop.com/image/answeβ¦ i.pinimg.com/736x/fd/3f/c4/fd3β¦
I absolutly hate that my logic side won't let me be able to draw things like these, because in Comics and stuff, those faces can really make good moments.
Ah, okay, then we both are TLoS XD
Well, I never really minded that much as it leaves the wings more movable as you don't need to fear of accidently ripping your wing membranes just because you moved them wrong.

hahah
example of what?
wut? Okay I've never found that.
I have found porn of spyro though.... it was an accident.
Scarred my 12 old brain or how old I was at the time
oh
Ah, so you watch jacksepticeye as well? Hah, me too!
Hmm yeah, that is pretty cool.
I'll try to memorize what I wrote.
So basically, on the outskirts of the elven region elves are more down to earth a passive. The further in you get to the palace, the more stuck up and haughty the elves become because of how their society change. Elves are not much for violence and can't really stomach blood, plus killing is not looked very well upon because blood and murder is often used in dark magical rituals and such, and elven society is all about being a good person (Maybe like Japan?). They tend to use bow and arrow for long combat and tend to also use leather armor (cause nature). They also use water and plant magic and are pretty good healers. Because they live in mostly forest they're pretty agile and slender. Their ears also gives them a good hearing.
Elves and dragons have a... strange relationship. Due to violence not being tolerated and dragons are known to enjoy fighting more or less (even the ones that absolutely despise it still despise it a little less than let's say a human does) and even have sports centered around it (not death matches thought, that's illegal).
So because dragons mostly interact with the king and queen and the people around the palace for trading reasons, it has led to the stereotype of elves being up their own ass. But as we all know, that's not true. Even the elves around the palace can be humble.
Plus Elves just go well together with smaller animals, and dragons are like two fully grown mew tall (I think I calculated it to 10 feet).
Elves tend to keep wirogs as pets (these ones: Wirogs they will have a redesign later on btw).
I have a lot of patience, especially over the internet. I guess drawing everyday and talking with people makes you more patient.
However, if I've waited a long time for something, I do get impatient. However, I tend to forget what it was that I was waiting for, so it doesn't become completely insufferable.
Ahh I'll look out for that.
Ah, sorry for assuming. It's hard to decipher tone through text, so I thought you where being passive agresive. I'm glad you weren't.
I'm sorry to hear you got bullied. Yeah I completely understand the want to take revenge on people, I'm pretty sure I've felt that way before.
Though there are more calm ways to get rid of that anger. Like writing about it or drawing it. Of course, it's recommended to not show it to anyone and just keep it to yourself.
Ah yeah I can see that.
So we got some fairy tail(?), some black butler and Naruto there?
Faces like that have never really bothered me, but some do make me cringe (just like certain sentences or actions make me cringe. Like I know that one scene is supposed to be funny but damn my insides just contorted)
We are
Yeah I can see that. Though I'm pretty sure wing membranes are very stretchable.
Though one thing I never drew was the skin on the upper part of the wing arm. You know the one between the hand and the shoulder? Idk what is it even good for?

Okay, then I'll open it back up.
It's okay though, it's better to think again than to make rash decisions :3 Take it from me, I saw a few adopts and bought them instandly, not that I regret it, I just was a bit fast in getting them instead of holding and forgetting about it. Out of sight, out of the mind.

Also I keep forgetting to ask: do you mind if I add these to some of the wof adopt groups I'm a member of? It can help greatly with getting them sold.
Though only if you allow it, if not I won't
