November 2007: Rattata tutorialPlease visit my website to view the full tutorial
Coloring Rattata is fairly easy, because it doesn't have a lot of different colors. The eyes are also the same colors as the tongue, so that's nice to know. Personally, I like to add a little white to the fur on Rattata's belly, even though white isn't officially part of Rattata's colorscheme, because it makes the fur look shiny (in the non-bling-bling-look-a-PokΓ©mon-with-weird-colors-appeared-way) and if you don't add white, the fur tends to look a little bit too dark. I also used a little white on this picture, but whether or not you do this too, is entirely up to you.
The shiny Rattata, which happens to be a female (short whiskers), has paler fur than the regular Rattata and its eyes and tongue are both blue. That may be a little bit disturbing, but keep in mind that lots of shinies have weird colors for the inside of their mouths.
