I finally got around to refining Link's sprite and created the majority of his with and without shield poses. They're basic stances too, which means only minor editing to the feet is needed for the 2 frame walking animation.

~Miri-W brought up a good question, just how will the mirror shield work? Basically, it will work very much like the aiming system for the seed shooter in Oracle of Ages/Seasons. You'll be able to move the shield and hold it in multiple directions, which are top, bottom, left, right and the diagonals in between.
