Description
I started this one about 13 years ago [link] and lost interest before I could finish it. I found it a little over a year ago and decided to complete it...Mostly Prismacolor pencils on watercolor paper with some watercolor paint on the older sections.

How did you do that? I have Prismacolor pencils, but in my art you can always see the lines, how did you make the lines go away? It is absolutely amazing, don't ever doubt your talent!

Thank you! I press pretty hard on the pencils. I try to completely saturate with the pigment... filling in all the pores and texture in the paper.

I really like the idea of abandoning a piece and then resuming much later with an entirely different approach. such an interesting effect. in this case the two styles really compliment each-other. Anyway, my favorite part is the 3-eyeballed-octopus lookin' thing (but then again, I'm terribly biased in favor of all cephalopod-kind)

Thank you! This wasn't something I planned. I had abandoned the project back in '94 for lack of interest. Then I stumbled upon the unfinished piece while looking through some of my old drawings and thought it would be cool to finish it. I was pretty happy with the finished product. The octopus thing is my favorite as well.

As you should be! It looks wonderful.. the concept itself actually instills a certain brand of confidence in me that some day I will regain inspiration and stumble upon the motivation to finish at least a fraction of the currently unfinished projects and sketches I have now (and if they look half as good as this, i'd be extremely pleased!)
and in my opinion, it's the spontinaeity and nonchalant-ness of it that really works.

Ha ha! Thank you. Not sure if I'd call it a visual diary... what was the creative process for yours? It's good work.

I just pick a place in my livingroom for the canvas.
Every day i create something on the canvas.
Usally with the tv on the background, so it has a influence.
After a few weeks it's finished, then i wait a while for the next one.
Otherwise they have the same media influences.

Please do, im curious how this would work out.
Maybe we can do something together.
That's how the idea existed in the first place.
When i was at school living on my own, i lived in a house with a copple of my fellow students and friends.
Because we were all young and creative we experianced with a lot of things.
Including making art while under differend kind of influences. Often we drawed on one piece of paper just because there was no money to buy a lot of stuff at ones. Most of the times on walls or the toilet, again.
Mostly they became wonderful pieces of art. One morning after a good night out, 4 of us where left and could'nt sleep.
We folded the big piece of paper so we where left with our own triangle to create a world in.
This turned out great. This was for me the start of this life project.
So if you like to do something like this with me, i will be totally in for it!
We could both make a canvas witch is divided in 2 even parts.
Don't have to be a strait line.
We both date/sign the piece, send it to each other and finish what the otherone has created.
Then we can expose it for a month in our own gallery's, exchange the ones we have and we expose it yet another month.
Then we can sell both on e-bay as an unique duo.
I like it already, what do you think?

Sounds pretty cool but I don't have the time right now. I barely have time for my own small projects. Thanks for the offer, I appreciate it very much.

It don't matter, live go's on. We'll see maybe some day.
The offer still stands so gimmy a call when things are slow.
i don't mind if it takes a couple of years, it's all good.
Speak to you later.
Aloha!
