Description Theme: American Icons ( Minimalistic)
Inspiration: Jackie O ([link] ) , Harvard tweed circa 1950-60 ([link] ... Not the pink one).

Okay, here's the tentative final.

Look 1 - Suit
Structured, geometric cotton blouse, front button closure with extra panel hiding the exposed buttons( see the front seam). Tweed skirt with slight flare at the bottom, buttons at the top seam. Leather pumps.

Look 2 - Cocktail
Slightly patterned silk, structured skirt for added poofiness. Pleats in front, similar buttons to the first look at the waist.

Look 3 - Gown
Silk dress with train starting in the middle of back. Bow decoration with a matchingly-colored button. Pearl accessories.

Look 4 - Trench
Cotton trench, leather gloves, wool pillbox hat, same skirt as look 1. Leather belt and pearl accessories.

Here's the tentative final, anyway. I completely changed the gown, but I think this one is much stronger.

They all look beautiful. The neutral beige color, in my opinion, works great.

And my favorite has to be the trenchcoat. Actually, I might use that dress for my oc, Aslann.

I have no critiques. ;0;

All I can say is I love each and every outfit. They look gorgeous. I really, really like the first.

much better on the gown! And i like the detailing on the others. However, I still feel the gown is a little out of place - the fabric, or maybe the color you used, makes it look too sheer and thin, where the rest of the line is a heavier, more structured fabric. Pull a Rami,or a Jillian, and make a more structured top with the flowy bottom, maybe? And no bow in the back, use the same kind of tie you used on the others, for cohesiveness.

Gorgeous. Seriously, wow. Also, I love your models. I'd leave a better comment but it's late and I'm tired and I just wanted to say something before I forgot.

I'm sorry I don't know anything about fashion design, but I think these look really sweet so far. I love how you draw legs, ughhhhh.

[Simon would be all over that trenchcoat. C:]

Now that I look at it more, i think a detailing idea you should definately play around with is using bottons on every piece - the trench is lookng the most finished to me, and that may be the reason.

Oh god

When I look at your work I get so intimidated!

They are fantastic!

The cocktail is my fave :]

Don't be afraid to add a pop of colour here or there, but it's SO chic!!! Can't wait to see them coloured.

Awh, thanks very much! XD I'm thinking of adding some pink or coral here and there, it's a Jackie O signature to me.

well first of all, those high heels are sexy. Secondly, you used Legally blonde as your inspiration? Seriously? thirdly, it looks a bit plain right now, I know it's not colored and their definitely is detailing their, I love love love the structures you use, always inventive and they look so in place.... so I checked out your challenge and it's extremely hard, no wonder you're having a tough time with it! but hey, congrats for doing so well in the silent treatment challenge.
confused note- for the cocktail dress, the backview appears to have sleeves, but the front view doesn't?
anyway, I have to say all the outfits look very classy but that evening gown, well, I think I've seen Barbie in it. Which I guess is good for American Iconography? But it looks a bit costumey to me. I agree with whoever said it'd look nice slimmed down a bit.
hmm well I have to go to school, but get back to me and I'll prolly write more. Once again, darling you are an inspiration.

Ohh, no, on the cocktail dress, those are just manniquin(fuck spelling) arms. Cut off-like, in black and white it's hard to tell.

Yeah, I need to do something about that gown. And I'm worried about detailing... I'm just not sure what I can add to this to make it pop. I think the rough tweed texture will help, but I'm still scared I'm going TOO minimalist. :<

Oh and I do wanna say that all of them look very much like a collection together. I know you have a hard time with that, but I think you nailed it. I like how the back view of the gown is reminiscent of the back view of the trench which looks a bit like the back view of the cocktail dress, but the looks don't just look all the same. A+

First look on the left: Spotless, perfection, yes, totally, fifteen points to kendra, exactly correct, I love it. the shoes look super, because they're bright enough to add a punch but not ridiculously ott bright. YES.
Second look, I love the shoes with it, I like the shape of the dress a lot but it doesn't seem very cocktaily to me. It seems less party and more work. I think I personally would like a tighter skirt of the same shape (you know the type that's pencil-y but it's really tight on the booty and looks classy and sexy?) or a lower neck (off the shoulder like the evening gown maybe?) or a different belt. I do think the whole look is very American iconage, though.
Well I have to say I like this evening gown a lot more and I love the back (it seems like early eighteen hundreds to me, but in a fantastic modern way) though before I noticed the back, I did think the dress was sort of plain. That color is gorgeous! I could just imagining it shimmering and with the pearls, oooh lala. I think I might personally (and this could be a really bad idea, because it could look too predictable, i just don't know) bring the sleeves up a bit and poof them out a bit too, because right now it almost looks like her dress is falling off her not sexy off the shoulder look.
Fourth look: I want. Colors, belt, gloves, shoes, hat. Spot on. The only thing I kind of want to say is that, in this depiction atleast, the end looks a bit (man I don't know how to communicate this) as though it's not hemmed? I don't want to say too flowy, because I love the shape (so so so flattering and that coat would go with anything, I want!!) but as if the fabric isn't thick enough. It looks very thick and coat like around the neck and sleeves but then at the bottom it doesn't. Well. I'm sorry if you don't know what I mean, it's probably just me being weird.
Anyway, you're a fabulous designer, design my wedding gown when I get married (I mean, to a man with a real priest, not in the name of Johnny Depp. Because then I think I was wearing pjs, not a gown).

Awhh, I love you and your long comments~ Heartheartheart.
I definitely see what you mean, tightening up the looks a little bit. And we got an extension 'til Monday, so I actually have time to do so! Hooray!

the only one that doesn't quite fit is the gown. The others are very crisp and clean, and the gown is too flowy. if you narrowed the skirt, and shortened it a bit, it would fit a bit more.

Yeah, I was afraid if I shortened the gown too much, it would look very Jackie O, but not very formal. I need to play with it a lot more.

make sure fabrics look real. it is very simple, so much attention need to be paid to this surface detailing such as fabric/buttons

your models do have a (which is fine) robustness to them, esp. the one second to the left

looks good so far.
