Tamers got sooo much crap under the radar. Maybe that's why it's my favorite season. Takato, you are my favorite moe muse.

And Davis forgets. cuz I only watched 02 once so I forget how they did it Cuz he's Davis.

Takato could have easily said "fused" or "performed fusion" instead of "merged". Could have gotten the point across without getting raised eyebrows. Still poor guy.
Tamers, especially while it was on the air over here in the states, was my favorite season. The characterization was good, the story was good, and the tamer/digimon partner fusion sequences (Yes I know the proper term is Biomerge/Matrix Evolution.) were one of my favorite parts of it.
