That's weird... That hasn't happened to me in a long time with addons.
The best thing I can tell you is to just keep downloading it until it works I guess.

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this, but I'll give you the best answer I have.
If you have Garry's Mod, and have subscribed to the addon it should just appear in the addons folder.
You can look in your addon files on your computer through
This PC > (Which ever drive you have) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > GarrysMod > garrysmod > addons
And then you should be able to find it in there as a GMA file.

Well,I actually extracted the GMA file and put all of its extracted data into add-on folder.

Well,it's a possibility,but then again,out of the all the addons I installed,this is only add-on that gives zero Fs about loading into gmod itself.

I like how Specimen 7 is the only one who doesn't have 3D model for some reason.
