Personality:A very pious person Samuel is typically level headed and a good decision maker. However he can panic a bit in unfamiliar surroundings until he adjusts. He will often pray or make a cross when upset or emotional. He speaks very respectfully to others always calling them sir, or madame. He is protective of those he cares about especially his Pokemon, don't call them useless those are fighting words. From time working in a bar Samuel is a quick judge of emotions and can often tell if a fight is brewing, though he gets himself into trouble quite a bit by trying to break it up. Still he normally is quite submissive and doesn't have the best of confidence.

Brief History:Born Samantha O'Conner, Samantha and his family are from Hoenn but droughts and a few summers of bad crops caused his parents to send both himself and his twin brother Gabriel to Johto with the promise to join them once they earned enough money. Working as serfs at their Johto sponsors house the two were dutiful workers and always kept their spirits up saving any change they could to quicken their parents arivl in the new world. After seven years they were free to do as they pleased, and moved to a nearby port town where jobs were easier to come by. Samantha found work as a barmaid and Gabriel as a smiths apprentice. They weren't spared the anguish of rising taxes and new laws that made their goal of funding their parents journey seem next to impossible. Outraged they decided to join the Johto fighters when the war started. Samantha changed her name to Samuel and dressed as a boy to be allowed to join the fight.

Misc: Samuel can be very defensive when it comes to his gender and makes sure that it stays secret.
Though he is interested in women he won't try to court them because he doesn't believe it's fair to mislead them.
Samuel is bisexual though he favors women. Because of his time period he is very conflicted over this and won't let the fact be known.
Yank and Lavender will often hide in Samuel's hat
Samuel has been shot twice but cleaned the wounds himself, as such they never healed properly.
Samuel has an Irish accent and a gravely but slightly feminine voice (in a young boy way)
He is rather easily flustered by women of later time periods because of their style of dress, will try to not to look at them and more than likely stutter
Samuel is based loosely on Deborah Sampson
Carries a knife in pocket and a small first aid kit
EDIT 1/14: I should note that upon coming to Celstic town he was rather quickly convinced of modern bathing and care, so (s)he is no longer one of the stinky unwashed masses

Size: About 10 inches long (not including tail)

Personality: Full of himself and mischievous Yank is always sticking his tail where it doesn't belong.

Brief History: Yank has been with Samuel the shortest out of the group but seems to be the closest. He was saved from a pack of red coat growlithe by Samuel and the two have been inseparable ever since.

Personality: Stubborn as a mule and as noisy as one too Margaret thinks she can take on the world and doesn't think she needs to evolve to do it.

Brief History: The two met when Samuel first moved to the port city and he carries her around in a large glass vase which he cals her 'pokeball'
