Description
Narrator: The next day, after Ryan showed Liz the grounds of the new branch line, he told her she can take a train of empty trucks to Arlesburg Junction. From there, it will be filled with ballast, and then she takes the train through the harbor and to the shunting yards where, another engine would take it to its location. Liz was excited because she wanted to explore the island a bit more but was a little disappointed that she wouldn't deliver the train to where the ballast was needed. Soon Liz made her way to Arlesburg Junction where Duck was there, talking to someone.Duck (sees Liz coming in with train): Hullo Liz. I was just talking to Rex about how things are going well for him.
Narrator: Liz looked around but there wasn't another engine in sight.
Liz: Who were you talking to?
Rex: Up here!
Narrator: Liz looks up and sees a very small green engine with a truck of ballast in front of him. Liz was most surprised.
Liz: Where did you come from? Who are you?
Rex: I'm Rex and I came up here on that slope back there. This is needed to place ballast into your trucks easily.
Narrator: Just then, two more small engines came into the junction. It was Bert and Mike.
Mike: You seem new.
Liz: Wha?!
Duck: (laughs) Have you ever seen a miniature engine before Liz?
Liz: Not exactly. Not even from my old railway where Percy and I lived together.
Duck: Don't worry. I had the same reaction the first time I met Rex.
Bert: Even though we're small...
All three: We can do big things!
Mike: So never overlook a little engine.
Liz: I'll keep that in mind. Some of the big engines on my old railway use to tease me and my brother Percy.
Rex: Well a friend...or sibling
... of Percy is a friend to us!Narrator: Liz soon became friends with the small engines and her train of empty cars was filled with ballast.
Mike: Come see us again sometime.
Liz: I will!
Narrator: And Liz set out to the shunting yards. But along the way, she was to pass through Arlesburg Harbor.
