I am the Starlight SONG COVER

A little alteration to the original musical plot. Some friends and I had the idea that after winning the second race, Poppa collapses from the heat and beating of the other contenders. Being an old engine, he gives Rusty his dying wish to compete in the final race before his fire goes out. Feeling at his breaking point with the loss of his Poppa and for the third race, Rusty screams out for the Starlight Express. It’s at this time, the Starlight Express heard his prayer and sends forth Poppa’s Ghost to visit Rusty. There he gives Rusty the confidence he’s always had.

I wanted to give it the Disney formula, where a mentor figure dies and encourages the hero to continue. It would make total sense for during my study of the musical, the actor of Poppa sings as the Starlight Express in Act 2. So what if Poppa were to sing instead of SE because as the SE is their train god, it would show respect on the mystery of the SE and kept them silent.
