Been playing a lot of Dwarf Fortress lately (specifically Adventure mode.)I forgot how good the throwing stat was until I started using it again.
Personally, I like throwing bolts and coins. Both are pretty lightweight, they're everywhere, and they come in stacks.
Perfect for killing Gabbos.
