So, after much editing, recoloring (and full out redrawing of some cards) here's what the final "production" versions of what the Majors will be.
I've uploaded these new ones and replaced the old cards if you want to look at them individually, but since I didn't want to annoy anyone with 22 deviations in their inbox here they all are in one handy chart. :3

I'm actually quite disappointed with my work on the minor arcana and may just hit the reset button on them though. Accepting when you've failed, no matter how far you've come is hard, but that's life I guess.

In the Rider/Waite/Smith tarot the cards are switch based on the astrological to Kabbalah conversions the Golden Dawn first made. The Thoth deck stayed true to the OG tarot, though this was mostly due to Crowely's disdain for Waite. However I will be including both the RWS and Thoth variants in the box so that people experiment with whichever system they like best. :3

They're almost done.   Just had to redo 42 of the cards I felt weren't up to snuff and make Thoth variants. I'll be posting an update soon. :3

Awesome deck! What's your thoughts on Crowleys dealio with tzaddi not being the star? Personally I feel it qabalistically makes more sense to have the emperor as tzaddi but but I'm cool with either system.

While I prefer the RWS version due to it being the system my lodge used, I feel the Thoth system was every bit as legit. In fact a huge part of my decks delay was making Thoth variants that are also included in the box so everybody gets what they want.

Absolutely amazing. I've been hoping for this ever since I saw the two cards in the Psychonaut Field Manual, and it's even better than I had hoped. I love that you've included the tree of life attribution in each card, the art is gorgeous and fun, and the imagery is spot on. I can feel these cards. Beautiful.

Yep, just redid half the deck that weren't up to snuff and make the Thoth variant/versions of the major arcana (both the RWS and Thoth systems come in the same box). I'll be posting an update soon announcing the release date.  :3

Any updates on the minors? Or at least nice print versions of the majors?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bluefluke In reply to rootsofchaos [2016-02-21 00:45:56 +0000 UTC]

I've put the deck (mostly) on hold until I finish the psychonaut field manual so that I can lavish the undivided attention on them that they deserve.
Though I do make a card here and there when I've got some down time. I'm just as excited by them now as I ever was but working on both projects at the
same time was hurting them both.

This is the first deck that inspires me to learn tarot. I've loved working thru the Field Guide and I cannot wait until the deck is finished. Do you have any plans to release the major arcana in printable format or are you waiting until the whole deck is complete?

bluefluke In reply to rootsofchaos [2015-06-14 20:24:28 +0000 UTC]

Thanky! I'm waiting until it's completed to make physical copies available but all the
cards I've completed thus far are freely available to the community and can be
downloaded and/or printed if it strikes your fancy. :3

Awesome! I downloaded the major arcana, but the resolution seemed to be too low to get a good print. Any chance you'll put up copies of them with higher resolutions?

You seem to be well versed in Hermetic Qabalah (as opposed to just traditional Kabbalah). Have you read Lon Milo DuQuett's Chicken Qabalah? That's the book that got me interested in tarot to begin with.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bluefluke In reply to SirCthulhu [2015-03-18 10:11:18 +0000 UTC]

No, but I did watch "Qabalah for the Rest of Us" while falling down a youtube rabbit hole. The man knows his shit that's for damn sure.
I was surprised he was so open about it and I found his honesty refreshing. Though he did hold back
about unification (zomg with the damned oaths haha). Still, really good stuff and I can see why people love him so.
Quite impressive. ^_^

Mark-Watson-Tarot [2015-03-05 10:09:42 +0000 UTC]

The thing I like best about these cards, other than the incredible art, is the way that you've remained true to form in terms of their positions on the Tree of Life. You've effectively taken an extremely traditional approach whilst adding a very creative flair to the project. This gives the cards an extremely layered dimensionality - while they may seem simply gimmicky, they have an incredible depth to them, and would be easy to read by someone who was classically trained in tarot. This deck sort of reminds me of a comic version of The Night Sun Tarot by Lo Scarabeo - it shares similarities in that both decks are approaching a very complex set of correspondences whilst remaining visually stunning. Scarabeo does this through their extremely complex magickal references, while you've done it through humour.

I own over 150 decks now - someone gave me a few they didn't want, and I own some extremely valuable decks, such as my limited edition signed Baphomet tarot, but this is one deck that I think will eclipse almost all the ones I use for its sheer power as a tool of subconscious expressionism.

Mark-Watson-Tarot [2015-02-26 12:43:06 +0000 UTC]

Faq me, they're beautiful! Are you still going to upload them onto a printable format where we can get them put onto card stock and have our very own Bluefluke decks? I'm topping out at 145 decks at the moment, but there is always room for more!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

bluefluke In reply to Mark-Watson-Tarot [2015-02-28 01:48:38 +0000 UTC]

Yep, I'll be uploading them in multiple formats and making them royalty free so that people can either print out their own at home or through "make your own cards" printing company if they're
on a budget or buy a deck directly from a variety third parties. Right now (as I'm sure you know) outside of a small niche of tarot enthusiasts (like you and I) the only two major decks are the
ancient Smith/Waite and Thoth systems. I want to disrupt this monotony and I think I have a sound stratagem.

Mark-Watson-Tarot In reply to bluefluke [2015-02-28 11:21:57 +0000 UTC]

Awesome, cheers bluefluke. Sorry to spam you about your deck all over the place, I still have no idea how to use Deviant Art and kinda missed this reply altogether

How do I get copies of you art off this site? Is there a button somewhere I can use to buy things? Like I said, total Deviant Art noob here. Yeah, the whole 'Rider-Waite is my life, but I like the Thoth Deck too' debate does my head in - I just picked up another five decks the other day, and The Steampunk Tarot and Archeon Tarot is rocking my world. The Night Sun tarot kinda scared the crap out of me a bit, but it looks like it will kick some serious arse too...

Thanks heaps for the reply, total fanboy here...squee!!!
