BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-03-29 09:26:56 +0000 UTC]

I thought you'ed see something wrong with it. What's "easing"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-03-30 00:27:44 +0000 UTC]

Easing is the speed up and slow down involved in movement. It's that lovely thing that makes animations more realistic and fluid.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-03-30 10:05:11 +0000 UTC]

Which is very difficult to do.

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-03-30 10:52:20 +0000 UTC]

You'd be surprised. funnily enough, easing in easytoon is easy! *facepalms*

All you need to do is practice.

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-03-30 11:24:40 +0000 UTC]

I guess also because it takes forever to get right, it gets boring.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-03-30 12:03:37 +0000 UTC]

Believe me, it doesn't take for ever. try this, move a pixel 1 pixel width, then two, then three, then 5, then 8, then back to 5, 3, 2, 1 and then stop it. This is the very basis of easing and its piss easy. just apply this to almost all movements and you'll be fine.

Thanks. I guess I'm so eager to get my animations done, I overlook a few things.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-03-31 22:59:47 +0000 UTC]

Glad you realize that. A fast anim isn't always a good anim. Take your time, look over the frames constantly and focus on making sure all the basics are there.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-01 10:57:55 +0000 UTC]

you've got to admit it gets tedious altering every single frame.

Yeah. At the beginning of my Crow Animation when it lands, there's nothing wrong with that.

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-05 20:45:53 +0000 UTC]

Hmmm *looks at anim again* nup sorry, minor easing issues there too.

Your computer must be lagging.

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-07 13:10:16 +0000 UTC]

Sigh, I'm not pointing out faults just to spite you, I just notice them out of habit.

You'll never get better at anything if you deny criticism. Unless the crit doesn't make sense or the person has no idea what their talking about all crit should be considered and thought over.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-07 13:24:49 +0000 UTC]

I don't deny criticism, it's just that it's all you come out with. When I see a reply from you I think "Oh, here it comes" You're never satisfied.

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-08 05:44:24 +0000 UTC]

Lol believe me, I'm a hard guy to satisfy. If I see a good point I'll usually comment on it, but if there aren't any i can really do that now can I?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-08 09:46:41 +0000 UTC]

You can say that again. I could easy point out faults on your animations but I don't out of curtesy.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-08 22:25:22 +0000 UTC]

Lol you baka, dont you know I love getting crit? But be warned, I'm critical of the crit I receive.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-09 09:37:21 +0000 UTC]

That just goes to show you can't take criticism. If your going to call me an idiot, say it in English. You sound like a weirdo fan girl.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-09 12:32:47 +0000 UTC]

I love it when people point out mistakes in my animations because it means I can get better.

How ever taking crit from someone who doesn't even understand the basic concepts of animation is just annoying. (And believe me, I've had some really terrible people try too.)

Good criticism is pointing out flaws that can hold a artist back and allow them to work on what's wrong. For example; "The animation lacks easing it the **** part" or "Try to reduce the wobbliness of the lines".

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-09 13:00:17 +0000 UTC]

See, now your making the common mistake of judging someone who DOES know about animation. I'm still learning it incase you haven't noticed.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-10 12:28:57 +0000 UTC]

Wait, if your still learning shouldn't you have said "DOESN'T"?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-10 15:45:28 +0000 UTC]

No, because I know the basics of animation. I'm LEARNING more advanced stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-10 23:21:54 +0000 UTC]

Your not advanced until you've mastered all the basics, including easing. Once you can make an anim with acceptable easing, physics, smoothness and no resizing can should you move onto advanced techniques. And I'm not the only person who would tell you this, maybe you should post on an easytoon forum and find out for yourself.

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-12 10:12:43 +0000 UTC]

Well, you can't please everyone. Your a perfect example of that.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-12 22:30:04 +0000 UTC]

Well I am a hard man to please.
(Hehehe . . .)

You really just need to practice your easing. When it come to animating, easing the the most important aspect. Most other techniques are derived from it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

BlueHorizon89 In reply to the-darkest-white [2010-04-13 09:42:10 +0000 UTC]

You can say that again For me, easing is hard.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

the-darkest-white In reply to BlueHorizon89 [2010-04-13 11:18:18 +0000 UTC]

It all boils down to lots and lots of practice. That or make an easing system.
