Description Another thing that I felt fell to the wayside a bit were the DigiBeetles. So I decided to sketch out some ideas I had for Melody, Kristi and Keely for a good while now.

DigiBeetles were a sub race that evolved sparsely in some Zones, particularly seeing widespread use in Gaia Zone (Digimon World 2) a close neighbor of Zone Capital within the World Server. While primarily used as dungeon crawling tanks in Gaia Zone to traverse the Digital World, others saw DigiBeetles having more potential. They were imported to Zone Capital, and reprogrammed and rebuilt for interdimensional travel, and soon were used as allpurpose vehicles for safe Zone travel. Dan's Gunner is said to be a first generation Gaia Zone DigiBeetle repurposed for Zone travel and is one of the oldest models still in use.

Melody's Boxcar is the second oldest import model, originally a cheaper DigiBeetle used for demolition to build new paths in the Digital World's dungeons. Boxcar's simplistic boxy design and boxing gloves appealed to Melody's sense of humor, and she gladly partnered with him after being ushered into the Zoners. Unlike Gunner, Boxcar can't DigiChange, being incompatible with the necessary tech to do so, but neither he or Melody seem to mind this.

Glitch Witch is a second generation Zone Capital model, said to originally have been created in Witchenly. Her magical powers were popular among early hackers and gamers, using her to exploit cheats to invade the Network for their own selfish benefits. One model was apprehended during the Software Wars, and was kept in Zone Captial's DigiBeetle Garage until Keely happened upon it one day. Wanting to escape, but also becoming fond of Keely, Glitch Witch allowed Keely to partner with her, but initially met resistance from Dan Wizardmon and Gunner. Glitch Witch proved her worth during a later mission with her talents, which gave her a pardon and to be partnered with Keely officially.

Liondart is a newer generation DigiBeetle alongside Ransurot, but is more humble than his wave mate. Designed more for defense, he retains some tank elements of his ancestors, allowing him to traverse through most obstacles unhindered. His lion shape make some a bit skeptical though, due to the Leomon curse, but he's outlived several hundred lion type Digimon, proving his stability. Dan personally chose Liondart for Kristi, as he saw him as the best to help protect his sister.

All I can think of here is Digimon meets Wacky Races. And boy what a sight that would be.

That did go through my mind when drawing it, lol. It'd be a more fun game than the original attempt at Digimon Racing.
