So far, we don't know officially, but I'd guess it'd seem likely, wouldn't you think? Fire attacks for anger, water attacks for the sad one, and I'm not really sure about the happy one. I picked healing since a happy face would lift anyone's spirits, lol.

Interesting concept... but here's a thought.
What if Digimon and Applimon were incompatible with one another, and therefore cannot DigiXros/AppliGattai with one another?
It could prove to be an interesting dynamic for both sides of the outsider tamers, as they can use DigiXros just fine, but will need to collect Applimon to keep up in this new world. (Also it would be interesting to see a Zone where Dan doesn't automatically get the hang of whatever new mechanics the world presents.)

That's generally the direction I was thinking initially: having to collect Appmon and totally relearn things.
It is possible Digimon and Appmon could be incompatible, at least at first. Perhaps some sort of programming patch could be installed to allow proper combatability? At least, it's something I could see the villains using after the initial frustration of the Appmon not working like people may expect.
On a similar note regarding incompatibility. I had thought of a situation with Dougamon, where it can cause streaming glitches on Digimon specifically. Other Appmon may not be affected by it as much.

Another way this could go is that the patch merely mitigates the problem, rather than solve it. An Applimon/Digimon fusion could be considerably weaker than an Applimon/Applimon combo or a Digimon/Digimon combo. The villains would end up getting frustrated with the losing streak and set off to collect more Applimon as the series progresses.
That's an interesting idea with Dougamon. Perhaps the Digimon could also be resistant to the virus-probe-thingies with the multiple arms, since they seem to be designed to attack Appmon specifically. It's a good idea to give both races an advantage over the other, so one doesn't get left in the dust.
