This originated as a TFANZG concept (and one that could still be used) for TFP: Beast Hunters, where Apeface and Snapdragon were two additional resurrected Predacons cloned by Tarantulas and given to Predaking to control in secret. However, they're both pretty stupid....

While not much to say in terms of personality, the Headmaster Horrocons were a favorite Decepticon subgroup of mine, maybe just because of the their concept. In turn, these two make perfect subjects for Predacons.

So we examine Apeface, my fav between the two. For Beast Hunters, he was tweaked into being an dragon-ape to fit the theme. Because of this, he's also based somewhat after Buster Keel, a rough'n tumble kid like Natsu who just happens to be able to turn into a dragon-ape. His design is loosely inspired by Keel, but takes specific inspiration from the body type used by Blight and Rot Gut in the Beast Hunters toy line. His robot mode also has some homages to Optimus Primal.

Apeface's young, loud, brash, prideful, never looks before he leaps and always charges with his strongest attack. Basically just a punk kid looking for a good straightening out. Since coming to Earth, he's taken a fondness for bananas and banana based products often wondering off in pursuit of the beloved aroma. In this alternate continuity, he and Snapdragon are Predacons tamed by master Predacon Tamer, Decepticon Krok. Dialing back to Primal, Apeface and renowned explorer Optimus Primal are said to have a deadly rivarly, both competing to find the legendary Golden Banana hidden somewhere in the galaxy. Although Krok finds Apeface's obsession with bananas grating, he does find it has its place, often using them as Scooby Snacks to get Apeface's attention. His ancient, armored scales provide a natural defense from firepower, stronger than any modern Cybertronian armor today. Apeface relies on physical attacks rather than conventional weaponry, with his primary attack being the Gorilla Gutcrunch where he flings his massive fists and goes "apeshit" on any Autobot or Maximal within reach.
