Description This is the piece I cast in iron last Friday right after I broke (most of) the ceramic shell off. I still have to sandblast, cut the cup off, and do some selective finishing work on it, but this is pretty much how it will look, minus the cup and white shell. I'm really pleased with the delicate details of the leaves that came out on the base, I wasn't sure if they would cast and I'm very happy with it. Pictured here are views from the front, back, and side, and details of the face and the base.

Any suggestions for a title are very wlecome, I have no idea what to call this!

we had a bunch of sand molds too. Where do you go to school? There's not too many places that do iron casting.
Ours was huge, too. We did 75 molds and used 3000 pounds of iron. As soon as I get my hands on some pictures of it, I'm posting them here

I go to the University of West Georgia in Carrollton, GA. we actually have a connection also with the university of Alabama...they also do an Iron pour...I know some of the sculpture kids are going next week to Kansas State to do another Iron pour. One of the former students of the Sculpture dept is taking a graduate program there and he's also teaching an Intro class there.
One of the good things in the Art Dept of Westga is Sculpture...we have a very young, but awesome professor...Kevin Shunn. Where do you go to school?

Bowling Green State U in NW Ohio. We just had an artist from a Georgia University visit here. His name is George Beasely, do you know him? He was one of the pioneers of the modern cast iron movement
