Description

Back in 2013 I made a small map of the Shire as part of a character profile for Lord of the Rings: Online.

Allthough it was a fun little project to work on back then, it never was completely my own handywork (a lot of copy-pasting)

In January 2020 the Cartographers Guild challenge was all about recreating an old map.

A perfect opportunity for me to finally redraw the whole Shire Map myself and go on another adventure!

The map is showing the Shire with its four Farthings and the Buckland area.

I made three small illustrations on the corners showing memorable passages from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

Just to give it some minor credit I included the old version of my Shire Map as part of a illustration.
