Description
A world of marvel and mystery, all so different yet all so much the same, a world i can only embrace in my imagination... Just like you...Total Layers In Psd: 74
Total Layers Shown In End Product: 49
End Psd Filesize: 67.5mb
Total Time Take: uncounted, started about week and a half ago... i'm guessing 16+ hours or so.
Originally started out to be a print for a friends birthday, but i have neither the computer power nor the willpower to work in such massive resolutions. So yeah i just continued on with the resolution i started out with (1200x1600) and expanded it a few times troughout my working on it and it now sits at 1230x2270...
Dedicated to Krystle's 16th, bestly put the way she did:
"sweet sixteen and never been kissed"
UPDATE: image downsized 90% and quality lowered so that its not so massive to fullview anymore

my next piece is at 34 layers and ive had to stop because my computer cant handle it anymore... waiting for next computer to make next piece of art... this one was a small res so it handled ok.
71 layers isnt really all that many... a forum skin preview i did recently got to 150 layers or so before i finished

I like the merge between perspectives, you pulled it off well without it looking too strange.
I like the sunset as well

What an incredible piece of work mate! very stunning indeed.
Due to your HUGE leap from this stuff [link]
To now this, i'm going to fav this piece of yours. Generosity
Two things though. The sun needs to be removed, it doesn't fit in the piece at all........ It's completely different color and just looks kinda stupid lol. Also a nice blending of a cloud formation to the sky would look nicer than a flat top.
Great work

i think he should be thanking you for the creation of this piece instead lol.. as for the sun, i agree the colour is a bit off, but maybe if it was in the same tone as the rest of the image it would work well. I like your starfields and the double horizon, its a great concept, and i've seen a few around, they're great.
Someone pointed out that there was an issue with the blending of the trees, where white is still visible. This could possibly an artifact when trying to blend the images, or if it was intended to be so. You could make it so that there seems like a faint glow behind the trees, like there's something out there behind it. This concept could be utilised in a future work of yours, and if executed well, would look awesome.
One issue I have with this however, is the scaling of the objects. I find the objects are not all the right size, compared to each other, for example the building in relation to the trees on the right hand side of the image. The trees seem awfully big compared to the castle, which in my opinion should be not much smaller than the trees.
And this brings me down to the waterfall. The waterfall compared to the castle would make it seem like a huge waterfall, however the water is running smoothly into the body of water, and although real world physics would not allow as such, this gives the effect that it isn't water. It would seem like a semi-gas/water hybrid. This is well done, as it is consistent with the whole fantasy/sci-fi theme of the piece.
This is no doubt the best piece you have produced and the effort put in definitely shines out. Great work indeed mario, I hope to see great things from you.

absolutely awesome. yet more evidence that simple space scenes work well with landscapes. did you draw the castle and such yourself? cause it looks great.

Breathtaking. I feel like I'm floating down from space. I really like simple tones, they bring things together and in your image, it really makes that sun pop.
