"Sorry, did we say we're done with the pointless tutorials? Just kidding, we need to teach you how to catch a Pokemon. What's that? You just caught one? Screw it, watch the Tutorial anyway."
In all seriousness, the catching tutorial is another thing that I hate in Pokemon games but at least most games make it more tolerable by not allowing you access to pokeballs until after you've completed it. But in X and Y you are allowed to buy pokeballs right off the bat and can catch a Pokemon immediately, even when Shauna and Calem are within your field of view.
On another note, I kinda cheated with this catch, but it was to prove a point. I've reset Pokemon X multiple times so I've been through the first 20 minutes of the game a lot. There is something I've noticed in each run through, and even some let's plays. The first grassy area you run into, you will run into a pidgey on the second step. It seems to be without fail. So I decided to give myself a shot at something different, since I believe the pidgey battle is scripted. But another pidgey showed up anyway so bam, Blue gets a Pidgey.

Yeah, that is extraordinarily boring. Philemon (to the best of my knowledge) has only made one game where you can skip the tutorials, and that was Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs

I was EXTREMELY disappointed when I walked into the grass and the first thing I found was Pidgey, I was like...really? Pidgey, you're a Gen 1 Pokemon, go back to Gen 1 you're drunk! Seriously, it was obnoxious.

I was no happier walking into santalune last night and not seeing a single new pokemon. That's a big problem with this gen. There's so few new things.

I guess it's because with all the hate Gen 5 got for being so "different" with "unoriginal" Pokemon, then decided to bring back Gen 1 Pokemon and other crap in XY to get the older fans back. So XY is basically a way for people to get back into Pokemon because of the "mess" that was Unova.
Honestly, people who bash on Gen 5 just because of "crappy" Pokemon designs to just go fuck off because they are so immature. Seriously? So what if you can't use old Pokemon in Black and White? I think it's great that the Pokemon Company is giving you something fresh and new.
But I guess people are shitty assholes who won't stop bitching and whining wherever they go. I guess they wanted to make it easier and more "kid friendly."
I love Gen 5 but the amount of hate it gets pisses me off to no end.

That is hilarious. The tutorial cannot be skipped regardless whether you caught a Pokemon or not.

Just another reason to have a "non-beginner" mode in Pokemon.

True. I also love your Shauna in the corner. It's so cute with her getting yelled at XD
