I haven't done any "official" full body drawings of Jay since his very first post! Lmao. I want to do more ocs but I'm not sweating over it. Had this for a while so I'm just going to go ahead and slap it on here.

    ·         Favorite activities: Biking, Skateboarding, Swimming, Playing Music, Singing, Resting

Jay’s name was inspired by bluejays, a bird his mother is fond of- her choice driven by Jay’s blue eyes.
Jay has a laid back, calm disposition. Often with his hands in his pockets, his posture is quite unthreatening- his presence gives off a warm, pleasant feeling, and his appearance is eye catching without being overwhelming. Jay can come off a bit shier than he is (which he’s not easily prone to) just because of his fairly placid temperament- when he’s actually shy it’s on the subtler side, avoiding eye contact with a bowed head more often, rather than the type to stumble over words.
Jay isn’t easily prone to anger- he prefers to keep the peace. If he’s badly upset, he tends to vent by growling in frustration, throwing a rock, slamming a door- more passive aggressive and will avoid having anyone in the line of fire (picking fights isn’t his style). Aggressiveness and asserting himself is more of a learned ability, something he develops over time.
Jay’s teeth are not simply for display- chewing on things is a strong drive for his race, and he is not an exception to this rule- nibbling on things keeps them from overgrowing, and his people will often have an object of some kind to fulfill this need. Nuts and seeds are a favorite choice. Grass and other plants are not uncommon either.
Since Jay is usually in good spirits, the tail stands tall- and hooks over in a sort of question mark position (like a cat’s does). It will sometimes swish or tap on a surface when bored or impatient, but will also do this if he’s gearing himself up or in a playful mood so it can vary a bit. A tucked in tail is the result of protecting it or fear; and if scared enough stands on end and bushes up.
If Jay is trying hard to think of something he’s prone to mouthing the bill of his cap, or “tapping” on it as with his teeth.
Jay isn’t unpopular by any means and gets along quite well with his peers, but he maintains a certain distance; his relationships are more surface level than close friendships. Dyami is his close pal.

Jay’s chill yet friendly energetic way about him draws kids in easily (although his sunny laidback temperament tends to charm no matter their age).
