Yes exactly. Thankfully we'll have some really nice warm weather the coming week and that snow is already gone so all's good.

I could really go for some of that right now. Heck, it's May now and it's still freezing even in the sun, brrr. I think the seasons have been screwed up quite a bit here thanks to the climate changes. Now we barely have winters at all and almost no snow, but instead the springs have become a lot cooler. Even June can be cool now where it used to be really nice and warm and pleasant. That's a real shame since we only get three months of summer here and then it's back to autumn and cold again.

yeah, weather as been really up and down from warm to cool here now really, right now it not really that warm out, but it suppose to be really warm by the start of next week. yeah, must be really depressing and boring to have a summer that not very warm and a winter was barely any snow.

It's been snowing on and off for days here. What a weird year this has been so far. We're almost mid-May and it's snowing. Wow.

The winters are my fave time really, I don't have that pressure to be outdoors 24/7 as we Swedes tend to get in the summers since they're so short, lol. I can do whatever I want, sleep half through the day if I so choose, bwa ha. But the lack of daylight is a pain, it sucks. Days are getting pleasantly long and bright now. Before long, the sun will barely set at all.

lol weird weather indeed. here where i live it been like a roller coaster between warm and cold weather.

i really don't like winter because i really don't like cold, snow and ice. i like warmer weather better, but not so much "omg i'm gonna die" hot weather.

Agreed. And there are two additional benefits with winters: no thunderstorms and no insects! Hate both with a vengeance. Like now, every frigging night I go to sleep there are some bugs in my bedroom even though I have one ofΒ  those UV light insect lamps in the livingroom right next to it. So now I set up a second lamp in my bedroom. Let's see how they like that!

i love thunderstorms actually, i much prefer a lot of rain over a lot of snow, expect when thunderstorms happen at night, that can get annoying.
yeah, i can agree with the insect thing though because my house gets investing with stink bugs every summer, they are really harmless, they are just annoying as hell as they fly around by room and at the dinner table sometimes.

Uh, not me. Because we instantly get reverted to the stone age, you know? It gets so fierce out here that we have to unplug everything electric and my whole life is based on electric appliances. I get so frustrated when I can't work on my computer or play a game or something for several hours, or go outside. Heck, we don't even have lights so I can read a book. Boring!

Oh, ours are harmless as well, I just don't like them crawling over me in my sleep or the chance of accidently inhaling them or swallowing them. Uhh.

My cousin has arachnophobia, fear of spiders. It's insane. I've actually heard her screaming from five houses up the road, lol.

oh okay, i see now. thank god i don't have that problem here where i live, i never a thunderstorm that serve where it knocks out the power, but with snowstormsΒ  have the power knocked out once. so yeah, i tink i rather have my power knocked by thunderstorm then a snowstorm.

lol. eww. thankfully stink bugs are dominate at night and they are pretty big bugs,soΒ  not as east to accidentally inhale or swallow one.Β

lol. yeah, i don't really like spiders either, but i would never scream that loud. XD

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to BlueRavenfire [2017-05-14 09:31:58 +0000 UTC]

No it doesn't knock out the power that often, we just like to unplug everything for safety reasons. I had a computer ruined one of the first years we lived here due to a sudden thunderstrike so I'm not taking any chances anymore.

Heh, you should have seen the first winter here then. I was alone since my mother still worked back in our old town for a few years before retiring. So, mid-winter in the evening and the power goes out for nine hours. That means no electricity and no water either. And there are no street lights anyway here so it was absolutely pitch black. I couldn't see an inch ahead of me. I knew my way around the house so I could go find some candles, but that was quite the experience, lol.

Stink bugs? Uhhhh.

I know, right? I was laughing so hard, ha ha. Poor girl.

BlueRavenfire In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2017-05-14 22:16:48 +0000 UTC]

oh okay, yeah, i see why. that is why most of the electronic stuff in my house is on surge protectors or back up batteries so that if a power surge ever does happen during a thunderstorm, it won't hurt anything in our house.

yikes, that must of been a scary experience, be thankful you didn't freeze to death during the night. but yeah, that is one my biggest fears to be without power during winter, not be able to get food or water and freezing to death in my own house. thank god my dad as a back up plan in case that ever does happen.

lol. the bugs don't really stink, they are just called that because when you squeeze them they put out a foul smell.

lol yeah, poor girl.

You probably have better gear than we do then. I've heard many cases of where those devices failed to perform and the thunderstorms still destroyed equipment.

Oh no, the house will support us for many hours and besides, there's a fireplace in the living room, sort of like a miniature furnace. It's not very effective without the fan that runs on electricity but it can keep us safe enough.

That's great that you have a backup plan. I hope things never get that dire for either of us.

Yeah, we have some of those too. But ours you don't even need to touch, they'll stink if you get within a few feet of them and man do they stink! It's soooo fun when one of the cats have accidently touched one of those bugs out on the lawn. Their fur stinks for days afterwards, yuck.

BlueRavenfire In reply to Skyward-Dreamer [2017-05-15 21:31:13 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i have never had a problem with any of those devices before.

oh okay, i have a fireplace in my house too, but it's in the basement, so yeah, not very effective for keeping the house warm. instead my dad as a small kerosine heater hat works far more better in case the power ever goes out during the winter.

oh okay, that must be annoying to those bugs around.

Skyward-Dreamer In reply to BlueRavenfire [2017-05-16 20:38:34 +0000 UTC]

Ah, I see. We only have one floor, no basement, so it's easier for us. And that's great, a good solution. We should probably have something like that too.

Oh, I absolutely hate them. Uhh! Luckily, they don't come inside the house so it's okay I guess.

ah okay, i see. yeah, it would be a handy thing to have around in case of an emergency.

ugh, stink bugs get in my house all the time.
