Description
Yoho, hereΒ΄s the next!
This time an interior; sci-fi laboratory. I never know if to post these in 'landscapes and scenery' or in 'sci-fi'... one doesnΒ΄t really exclude the other, right? :I

This is really cool, and it sort of gives me a dystopian feel. Awesome work, you're very talented.

Nice! Sort of reminiscent of Mass Effect.
There are times when I see things like this and wish that more artists/designers had some control over the spaces that real labs (and offices/cube farms) are actually in. If this was the real world, the image would be much more boring, with taupe walls, an 8' ceiling (maybe 10' with ducting, plumbing, and electrical), and second-hand furniture. Sometimes the equipment is second-hand too. It is really apparent when watching "Behind the scenes" videos of game companies; their games include richly designed, "cool" offices with interesting designs, but they work in standard, crowded cubicle farms. Wishful thinking on the game designers' parts? Or lack of sufficient vision by architects?

Hah, yeah that is definitely true, but I think you can apply that concept of overloaded fiction to many settings and events. If such an area is to be an important part of the game/movie, itΒ΄s gotta look cool. In the end it is done for a medium defined by visual entertainment, and was never meant to depict reality, but to visually impress.

Oh, I agree with all of that....I am just wondering why people don't make those cool office/lab spaces a reality. Why should we be content in cube farms, when there are so many better, visually attractive designs out there that would make the work/research environment so much better? Yes, games and movies are visually oriented, but isn't life as well? (At least for those whose vision isn't impaired.)
