^v^ My OC, who I call Spore.
;v; I had this idea a while back.....to make a little mini story for myself based off characters that came to me in my dreams, and Spore is one of those characters. ;3; This is going to sound weird but....I had dreamed about a boy who had been infected by Cordyceps, sitting all by himself in a forest full of decaying foliage and dense with powdery yellow spores. ;w; I think....Cordyceps are like, the coolest and most beautiful things ever.....!! *v* I love them so much!!
;w; So yeah, I dreamed about this character originally, and recently I decided that I wanted to turn some of my most memorable dream characters into actual OC with their own little intertwined mini story for my own enjoyment xD
TvT I tried.....to draw him and recall his story as close to how I saw him in my dreams, especially where the background/environment is concerned.

TvT Uhmm so yeah. I'll do my best to explain what happened in regard to him in my dreams. xD Of course, it was a dream, so the story is kind of lame and doesn't make a ton of sense:

Spore, who is a boy infected by Cordyceps. Ordinarily, Cordyceps do not infect humans, but they infected him as a result of a curse made upon him by a witch. As a human, he worked with a group of men who would kidnap women and sell them off as slaves. All he would do is get women to trust him and lure them away from others, he did not want any part of what the others would do. Though he hated doing it, it was the only way he could make enough money to live in a comfortable lifestyle, so he did it despite how wrong he felt it was. Later, the group of men were caught by a lone witch, and she put a curse of Cordyceps on all of them. It was designed to kill him in a similar function as Cordyceps kill insects, driving them mad and making them climb to very high places where they will fall from and commit suicide. It effected him too, taking initial root on his right arm. Driven by madness, he walked to the edge of a cliff where the curse would make him fall. However, his willpower to live was slightly stronger than the curse and he was able to gain a brief moment of lucidity to do the only thing he could think of to stop the curse. He saw how the Cordyceps crawled from their origin on his right arm, so though it was awful and painful to do so, the only thing he could think of before he would inevitably fall of the cliff was to cut his arm off. He did, and it saved his life. However, though he was not killed by the curse and instead became merged with it, the Cordyceps toxin in his body still for some reason bonded with him and patched his wound so he would not die of blood loss. The curse itself proceeded to use his body as a living host, making him the very curse laid upon him. Now he is the curse, unwillingly infecting everything around him and killing them.

........;n; Yep. I dreamed that. srsly. That is why it doesn't make a lot of sense. But yeah. ;__; He really....cut his own arm off in the dream. And I spared you guys him seeing the other men fall to their bloody, fungus-ridden deaths.
.........:_____; In case I never mentioned this before, I do not have "pleasant" dreams......:~; I-i'm just going to stop talking now because you guys probably already think I'm insane. OTL

TvT Uhmm....but yeah. I think Cordyceps are so cool and....poetically beautiful I think too....its hard to explain.
;w; I just....love things that are grotesque and yet also beautiful.
TvT I might be drawing more of my dream characters soon....I've been thinking about them a lot lately. xD Oh, and not all of them are so....obscure. xD And as for their story, it isn't part of any of my serious stories that I am working on, its more just something simple and fun for me ^v^.
