Yeah, I know about the D-Type, but this looks more like some sort of air inflation than the heat-resistant gel the usual D-Type uses.

Mhm, indeed it is. Evangelion is one of my personal favorite anime. The funny thing is they use part of a theme from a James bond movie as Its battle theme. Which is still cool
